Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board announces Diploma Certificate Entrance Competitive Exam (DCECE – PE/PMM/PM) 2024 for admission to Polytechnic Courses, Apply Now
Bihar DCECE 2024 – Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (BCECEB) invites applications for Diploma Certificate Entrance Competitive Exam – DCECE (PE / PMM / PM ) 2024 to be conducted for admission in the following course groups :-
(a) (i) Polytechnic (Engineering) Course Group (PE) : Engineering Diploma Courses of Government / Private Polytechnic Institutes under the State of Bihar, (ii) Para Medical (Secondary Level) Course Group (PMM) : Para Medical Dresser Courses of various Hospitals / Institutes of Government of Bihar. (iii) Para Medical (Intermediate Level) Course Group (PM) : Para Medical Courses of various Government / Private Hospitals/Institutes of Bihar State.
(b) For Polytechnic (Engineering) courses. AICTE norms regarding eligibility specified by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of Bihar will be applicable.
(c) For Para Medical (PM) (Intermediate level) Nursing Courses, the eligibility criteria of Nursing Council of India as specified by the Health Department, Government of Bihar will be applicable.

Eligibility Criteria
Nationality:
- Only those applicants can get admission, who are citizens of India and fall under at least one of the following residential categories.
- Whose mother/father/husband/wife is a permanent resident of Bihar.
- Whose mother/father/husband/wife is a registered refugee in Bihar.
- Whose mother/father/husband/wife is an employee of the Government of Bihar.
- Whose mother/father/husband/wife is an employee of the Government of India posted in Bihar or an employee of the undertakings/institutions of the Government of India posted in Bihar.
- Whose parents/husband/wife are employees of the United Nations and are currently posted in Bihar.
Educational Qualification
Course: Engineering (three years).
- Educational Qualification: (a) Passed the Secondary Examination or equivalent tenth examination conducted by the Bihar School Examination Board. (b) Applicants who have appeared in the Secondary Examination or equivalent examination of the year 2024 are also eligible for Polytechnic Engineering Course, but it is necessary to pass this examination by the date of commencement of first counselling.
- Note: Other restrictions of AICTE regarding educational qualification specified by the Department of Science, Technology and Technical Education, Bihar may be applicable.
- Physical:- Medical examination of the applicants selected for admission will be conducted. Admission will be given only if the applicant is found fit in the medical examination. Separate fee will be payable for health test.
- Age:- There is no maximum or minimum age limit for applicants for Engineering Course Group.
Course: Dresser (Paridhapak).
- Educational Qualification : Passed 10th or any other equivalent examination from Secondary Examination/ CBSE/ ICSE with Science and English as Subject. Applicants who have appeared in the secondary examination or equivalent examination of the year 2024 are also eligible for this competitive examination, but it is necessary for them to pass this competitive examination by the date of publication of the merit list.
- Physical:- Medical examination of the applicants selected for admission will be conducted. Admission will be given only if the applicant is found fit in the medical examination. Separate fee will be payable for health test.
- Age:- For Para Medical (Secondary Level) Course Group, the age of the applicant should be minimum 15 years and maximum 30 years on 31.12.2024. Only the date of birth mentioned in the admit card or passing certificate of secondary examination will be recognized. Affidavit or any other document will not be valid in respect of age.

- Diploma in Pharmacy (Admission will be given only if the institute has received the recognition of the Indian Pharmaceutical Council).
- Sanitary Inspector.

- Staff Grade ‘A’ Nursing Course (For Females Only).
- A.N.M. (Nursing) Course (For Females Only).
- Dental Mechanics.
- Dental Hygienist.
Educational Qualification:
- For Diploma in Pharmacy, pass in Intermediate Science or any equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, English and Mathematics or Biology.
- For the GNM (Grade-A General Nursing and Midwifery) course, which is available to women only,
- candidates must have passed 10+2 / 12th with minimum 40% marks in Science subjects (Physics, Chemistry and Biology) and English as a subject. SC and ST candidates will get relaxation of 5% in the minimum marks.
- Candidates who have passed 10+2 / Intermediate Vocational Nursing Course with 40% marks from any institute recognized by Nursing Council of India will also be eligible for candidature for admission in GNM Nursing Course.
- Candidates who have passed ANM Course Those who have passed 10+2 / Intermediate examination with 40% marks will also be eligible for candidature for admission in this course.
- ANM (Nursing) course, which will be available only for females, the candidate should have passed 10+2/Intermediate examination with 40% marks. For ANM course, English is a must in the 10+2/Intermediate examination.
- For the remaining courses, candidates who have passed the 2nd Intermediate Science or other equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English can appear in this examination. For the Ophthalmic Assistant course, it is mandatory to pass Intermediate with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English.
- Minimum educational qualification for admission in Dental Mechanics and Dental Hygienist courses is 10+2/Intermediate Science pass with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English subjects.
- Applicants who have appeared in 10+2/Intermediate examination or equivalent examination of the year 2024 are also eligible for this competitive examination, but it is necessary for them to pass till the publication of merit list on the basis of this competitive examination.
- Physical:- Medical examination of the applicants selected for admission will be conducted. Admission will be given only if the applicant is found fit in the medical examination. Separate fee will be payable for the health test.
- Age:- For Para Medical (Intermediate level) course group, the age of the applicant should be minimum 17 years and maximum 32 years on 31.12.2024. For the GNM course, the maximum age will be 35 years on the said date. ANM. The maximum age limit for the course is also 35 years as per the latest provisions of the Nursing Council of India. Only the date of birth mentioned in the secondary examination admit card or passing certificate will be considered. Affidavit or any other document will not be valid in respect of age.
- Staff Grade-A Nursing Course and ANM Nursing Course are reserved only for women. In this course, if a candidate who is successful in the competitive examination is pregnant at the time of enrolment, she may be enrolled but she will not be eligible for immediate training. Such candidates will be eligible for training only after their pregnancy is over and they have fully recovered. They will be considered eligible for training only after receiving a health certificate from the Medical Council constituted by the concerned Superintendent. Such candidates will be eligible to appear in the examination only after completing the training of the prescribed period.
