Sir/Madam

I, Kalyan Sood, a responsible citizen of Global village, Jaknet nagar, would like to bring your attention to the lack of pavements on sides of all main roads. This is a cause of concern because it is posing a threat to lives of pedestrians.

Also, high-speed vehicles move on the muddy tracks which causes a lot of pollution. Last month, five pedestrians lost their lives and more than twenty were reported injured due to mishaps on the main roads. The increased pollution due to the vehicular movement on dirt tracks is causing respiratory trouble to the residents of the area. Several cases of asthma and brocho-related diseases are reported on a daily basis.
I would like to request the authorities, through the prestigious columns of your publication, to get the required pavements on the sides of the main roads in the city. This will act as a great relief to pedestrians and residents of the area.

Sir/Madam

I, Sonal, a resident of R.P. Nagar, would like to draw your attention to the rapid increase of urban sprawl. The urban Indian has an increased buying capacity which has led to a surge in the demand for residential spaces.
Improvement in lifestyle and demand for luxurious residences have led to a sprawl of urban areas. This urban sprawl is leading to certain undesirable consequences. Reduction in forest cover as more land is vacated for urbanization. Decrease in availability of land for cultivation. Use of reclaimed land for urban development which is an environmental hazard. Loss of flora and fauna due to rapid urbanization. The solution to all this is to improve planning and designing of urban spaces so that maximum goals can be achieved with minimum sprawl.

I, Bharat, a resident of J.N. Colony, would like to draw your attention to the increase in the number of vehicles which has increased instances of traffic snarls, road rage and accidents.
The number of vehicles per household has risen drastically. The is a rise in plying of low cost cabs and taxis. People have stopped adhering to road safety norms. Thus the situation is apt for promoting incidences of accidents, road rage and traffic snarls.
