Telangana LAWCET 2017 Notification / TSPGLCET 2017

TS Law Common Entrance Test (TSLAWCET-2017) for admission into 3/5 years Law Courses (LLB) and TS PG Law Common Entrance Test (TS PGLCET-2017) for admission into LLM Courses Offered by State Universities in Telangana State including their affiliated colleges for the academic year 2017-18 will be conducted by Kakatiya University, Warangal, TS

Eligible candidates may apply through online mode only form 18th March to 18th April 2017 (without late fee) and may log into


A Common Entrance Test, designated as Telangana State Law Common Entrance Test-2017 (TSLAWCET-2017) and Telangana State PG Law Common Entrance Test-2017 (TSPGLCET-2017) will be conducted by the convener, TSLAWCET/TSPGLCET-2017, Kakatiya University, Warangal on behalf of the Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE)

The T.S. Law common Entrance Test-2017 & its Admissions will be made in strict compliance of the Rules and Regulations of the University Concerned, BCI, TSCHE and relevant GOs of TS that are in force and amendments that may come into force from time to time

LAW CET 2017 Important Dates

Registration Fee for Submission of Application for 3 Year/ 5 Year LL.B Courses [Rs.350/- For SC/STs Rs.250/-]
Date of Commencement of Submission of Online Application Forms 18th March 2017
Last Date for Submission of Applications without Late fee 18th April 2017
Last Date for Submission of Application with Late Fee:
(i) With Late Fee of Rs.250/- from 19th April 2017 to 28th April 2017
(ii) with Late Fee of Rs.500/- from 29th April 2017 to 06th May 2017
iii) with Late Fee of Rs.1000/- 07th May 2017 to 12th May 2017
iv) with Late Fee of Rs.1500/- 13th May 2017 to 15th May 2017 the students have to write the exam at Warangal center only
Date and Time of the Entrance Tests:
3 Year LAWCET-2017: 27th May 2017 (Saturday 10.00 - 11.30 am)
5 Year LAWCET – 2017: 27th May 2017 (Saturday 10.00 - 11.30 am)

Eligibility for TS LAWCET-2017

For 3 year LL.B Course: Candidates for 3 year LLB should have passed any Graduate Degree (10+2+3 pattern) of a recognized University with 45% of aggregate marks or any other exam recognized as equivalent by the Universities concerned. If any candidate secured less than 45% in graduation, he should have passed any additional graduation or post graduation with 45%

For 5 year LLB Course: Candidates for 5 year LLB should have passed two year Intermediate Exam (10+2 pattern) with 45% of aggregate marks or any other exam recognized as equivalent by the University concerned or the Board of Intermediate Education, T.S and Bar Council of India

Note: The percentage of 39.5% or above in case of candidates belongs to SC/ST category and 44.5% or above in case of other categories will be considered as 40% and 45% respectively
There is a relaxation of 5% of marks in the above qualifying exams for 3 year/5 year Law Course

Age Limit: Subject to the conditions stipulated by the Govt. of T.S & BCI, in this behalf, the maximum age limit for a candidate seeking admission into the 3-year/5-year LLB Course shall be 30 years and 20 years (relaxable by two years in case of SCs/STs) respectively

Nationality and Domicile: The Candidate should be an Indian National and should satisfy Local/ Unreserved Status requirement as laid down in the Telangana Educational Institutions Order 1974 and the amendments made there to from time to time

Eligibility for TSPGLCET-2017

LLM Courses are offered as full-time regular courses in the University Colleges, Constituent/PG Colleges of the University and Private Law Colleges affiliated to the Universities

Educational Qualifications:
a) Candidates holding LLB/B.L 3/5 year degree on the date of application and candidates who have appeared/appearing for LLB/B.L Final year examination are also eligible

b) The Candidates seeking admission into LLM (Private Appearance) of Osmania University, Hyderabad shall have a minimum experience of 3 years as a judicial officer or 3-years standing as an advocate on the date of appearing for T S PGLCET-2017

A candidate appearing for LLB/BL 3/5 year degree examinations may take the T S PGLCET-2017 in anticipation of results; however, he should pass at the time of counselling

Qualifying marks in TSLAWCET-2017

The qualifying percentage of marks in the Entrance Test is 35% (i.e. 42 marks out of total 120 marks). There will be no minimum qualifying marks for S.Cs & S.Ts for ranking

Test Paper Information

The Test is designed to evaluate the candidate’s ability and aptitude to pursue the study of Law. The Test consists of three parts. Total number of questions will be 120 and the duration of test is 90 minutes. Maximum marks are 120

Part-A: Consists of 30 questions carrying 30 marks: General Knowledge and Mental Ability

Part-B: Consists of 30 questions carrying 30 marks: Current Affairs

Part-C: Consists of 60 questions carrying 60 marks: Aptitude for the Study of Law

For 5 year Law Course, the standard expected is of Intermediate level and for 3 year Law Course, the standard expected is of Degree Level

Test Centre

Regional Centers of Entrance Test for 3 year / 5 year LL.B. Courses: Adilabad, Hyderabad , Karimnagar, Khammam, Nalgonda, Nizamabad, Warangal, Mahabubnagar, Siddipet , Manchierial, Kothagudem and Sangareddy

The Convener reserves the right to cancel any of the above centers, if the applicants for that center are less than 100 only

Medium of Entrance Test: The question paper will be set both in English and Telugu

Hall Tickets and Rank Cards

The candidates should note that the Hall Tickets and Rank Cards will not be sent by post. They have to download from the website as detailed below:
Candidates have to download the Hall Tickets from the website one week before the Test by entering his/her details
Candidates are also advised to download the Rank Cards from the website after publication of results

Registration Fee and Payment

Candidates have to pay Rs 600/- (Rs 500/- for SC / ST)  through TS Online / AP Online / E-Seva / Mee-Seva centers in Telangana / AP and also through Payment Gateway (Credit Card / Debit Card / Net Banking)
Submission of applications is through online mode only. Submission of Applications is permitted through online mode only; fee payment through AP Online/Payment Gateway (Credit card/Debit card/Net Banking)

Note: The Candidates have to Mark their Responses on Optical Mark Reader (OMR) Answer Sheet by Darkening the Relevant Ovals with Ball Point Pen, Dear Telangana LAW CET and PGLCET 2017 Apply Online
