Panjab University, Chandigarh announces admissions for BA/B.Com., LLB Entrance Test 2017 for admission to B.A./B.Com LLB (Hons) 5 year Integrated course for 2017 session.

Duration: The duration of the above-said course/s is 5 years consisting of ten semesters (July-December; January-May)

PU Law Entrance Test 2017 Eligibility Criteria

All those candidate who has passed/appeared in March 2017 in the 10+2 examination of the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi or its equivalent exam conducted by a recognized
Board/University/Council shall be eligible to appear in the Entrance Test

The admission of a candidate to the Entrance Test shall be provisional

The candidature of a candidate who has appeared in 10+2 exam in March 2017, shall stand cancelled if She/he fails to pass or gets reappear or fails to secure the prescribed percentage of marks in the qualifying exam; such candidate will not have any claim, whatsoever with regard to her/his admission to the above-said courses

The candidates who have passed/appeared in 10+2 Exam of Mahila Gram Vidyapith, Allahabad is ineligible to appear in the Entrance Test, as this institution has been de-recognized by Panjab University, Chandigarh

B.A. LL.B (Hons) 5 years/B.Com LL.B (Hons) 5 years Integrated Courses:

Candidates should have passed 10+2 examination with at least 50% marks (45% marks in case of SC/ST/BC/PwD) from any recognized board/university

The applicants who have obtained 10+2 Higher Secondary Pass Certificate or First Degree Certificate after prosecuting Studies in distance or correspondence method shall also be considered as eligible for admission in the Integrated Five Years Course

No candidate shall be eligible for admission to 1st semester of B.A./B.Com. LL.B. (Hons.) unless s/he appears in and qualifies the Entrance Test for the relevant year of admission

However, the candidates qualifying 10+2 through open universities system directly without having any basic qualification for prosecuting such studies are not eligible for admission in the law courses

Final Merit will be Prepared as under

B.A.LL.B. (Hons.) 5 years Integrated Course - Entrance Test: 50% + Qualifying Exam  (+2): 50% + other admissible weightage
B.Com. LL.B. (Hons.) 5 years Integrated Course - Entrance Test: 50% + Qualifying Exam (+2): 50% With Weightage for commerce subjects* and other admissible weightage
* Weightage shall be given for the commerce subjects for admission to B.Com. LL.B.(Hons.) as per P.U. Calendar and other rules and regulations laid down by competent authorities/bodies of Panjab University from time to time

PU Law Entrance Test Pattern 2017

Qualifying the Entrance Test shall not ipso facto, entitle a candidate to get admission to an institution/Course concerned where s/he intends to seek admission
The Panjab University BA/B.Com LLB Entrance Test shall consist of one paper on "Legal and General Awareness" as per the details given below:
- Number of Question - 100
- Marks allotted to each Question - 1 mark each
- Marks deducted for each wrong answer - ¼
- Total Marks for the paper - 100 marks
- Duration of the Paper - 90 minutes

Out of these 100 questions, 60 questions will be based on Testing General Knowledge and Current Affairs, 20 Aptitude for Law, 10 Testing Mental Ability and rest of the 10 questions testing English Language

The Question Paper will be available in English, Hindi and Punjabi (except for the portion "Proficiency in English Language")

However, the medium of instruction for teaching and semester examination will be English only

PU Law Entrance Test 2017 Admit Card

Admit Card will be issued to the candidate only provisionally, at her/his sole risk and responsibility It is further clarified that as far as the eligibility is concerned, university shall, in no way, be responsible
If s/he is found to be ineligible, later on, it will lead to cancellation of her/his result and any other consequence/s emanating from the same

The candidate should answer questions on the provided OMR Answer Sheet only, strictly as per rules/norms stated in the Question Booklet and the OMR Answer-sheet

Every candidate is required to hand over both the OMR Answer Sheet and the Question Booklet to the Centre Superintendent when the time allowed for the Entrance Test is over, even if s/he has not attempted any question

No page/part of the Question booklet/OMR Answer-sheet is to be removed/torn/taken out of the Test Centre under any circumstances, failing which the candidate shall be straight away disqualified from the Entrance Test

Panjab University LLB Admission Procedure 2017

After declaration of result of Entrance Test, the Admission Form shall be available at Panjab University website

Candidates who have qualified Entrance Test have to submit duly filled Admission Form, as per the guidelines displayed on the above-said website. Every candidate must indicate in her/his Admission Form the reserved category for which s/he wants to apply

If the category is not mentioned in her/his Admission Form, the candidate will be considered for the General Category only

Steps to Follow:
Read Prospectus carefully

Register Online. [last date for registration: May 03, 2017 (Wednesday)]

Note down your Login Id and Password (login details will be sent to your registered Email Id also)

Take print out of bank slip (bank slip can also be downloaded from account using login id and password)

Deposit fee using website generated bank slip at any SBI branch, minimum one day after printing of bank slip. [last date for submission of fee in any SBI branch: May 06, 2017 (Saturday)]

Login again after 24 Hrs. of depositing fee and upload scanned passport size photograph, signature, fill other important information and Save and Confirm. (Once you confirm the form, you will not be allowed to change information in the form) [Last date for completion of form 10th May 2017]

Download your Admit Card after 15th May 2017 (Monday). (Bring one photo identity proof like Driving License, Voter Card, Aadhaar Card, Passport etc. at the Examination centre failing which the candidate will not be allowed to enter in the Exam Hall)

Entrance Test Fee (Non-refundable):

General Category - Rs. 2100/-
SC/ST/PwD Category - Rs.1050/-

Candidates who are to avail the concession in Entrance Test Form Fee under the category SC/ST/PwD, they are required to send the self-attested copy of category certificate along with printout of Entrance Test Form to Assistant Registrar, CET Cell, Aruna Ranjit Chandra Hall, Panjab University, Chandigarh-160014 by registered post/speed post or by hand on or before 11th May 2017 upto 04.00 pm
