Army Institute of Law (AIL), Mohali invites applications for admission to LLM for 2017 session

The Army Institute of Law (AIL) was Estd in July 1999 by the Indian Army under the aegis of the Army Welfare Education Society (AWES) at its interim location at Patiala.

With ‘Aspire and Achieve' as its motto, the institute has come up as a Centre of Excellence in the field of legal education within a very short period of its establishment. In July 2003, the institute shifted its base from Patiala to Sector 68, Mohali, Punjab, which is now its permanent campus.

The Institute is permanently affiliated to the Punjabi University, Patiala and approved by the Bar Council of India

Overview of the Program

AIL is always one step ahead in initiating future orientated programmes to help students be ready for careers of tomorrow. The Master's degree (LL.M) 1-Year Course has been adopted with the objective of imparting in-depth knowledge in the field of Law. The programme is designed in such a manner so as to fulfill the needs of the modern world.

i. Wards of Army Personnel: 12 Seats

ii. Punjab Resident Civil Category: 02 Seats

iii. All India Civil Categories: 01 Seat

Total Seats: 15

AIL Mohali LLM Admission 2017 Eligibility Criteria

Candidate who has passed 10+2 examination from Punjab School Education Board or any other equivalent examination recognized as such by the Punjabi University, Patiala, securing at least 45% marks vide Punjabi University

The applicants, who have obtained 10+2 through Open University systems directly, without having any basic qualifications for pursuing such studies, are not eligible for admission in Law Courses

The applicants appearing for the qualifying examination in March/April are allowed to take the Entrance Test provisionally, subject to the condition that their candidature shall stand cancelled in case they do not pass the 10+2 March/April Exams with the required percentage of marks

Candidates passing the compartment papers of qualifying exam of 10+2 subsequently shall not be eligible for admission even if a seat is available

Selection Procedure

Admission to 60 seats for wards of army personnel will be done through entrance test conducted by AIL under the aegis of AWES.

Admission to 04 seats in the All India Category will also through the same entrance test.

Candidates for both Army and All India Category will be called for counselling as per merit in the written exam. Admission will be granted only if the candidate is found eligible on the day of counselling.

Admission to 16 seats in the Punjab Category will be based on 10+2 merits, drawn up by the nominated university as per the notification issued by Govt. of Punjab.

Entrance Test

Admission will be on the basis of entrance test conducted by Punjabi University, Patiala. Candidates to apply directly on Punjabi University, Patiala
