Aligarh Muslim University announces Law Entrance Exam 2019 for BA LLB and LLM Course Admission 2019

AMU Law Admission 2019 - Aligarh Muslim University invites applications for admission to Bachelor's Degree Course (BA LLB) Program and 2-year Master Degree Program (LLM) for the academic year 2019-20.

AMU BA LLB & LLM 2019 or Aligarh Muslim University BA LLB & LLM 2019 entrance exam is conducted by AMU for admissions into Undergraduate and Postgraduate Law Programs of Colleges affiliated to this University.

AMU Law Entrance Exam 2019 Important Dates


For BA LLB 2019 Exam

  • Last Date for Submission of Application Forms: 06th March 2019
  • Date of Test (BA LLB): 26th May 2019 (10.00 AM)


For LLM 2019 Exam

  • Last Date for Submission of Application Forms: 16th March 2019
  • Date of Test (LLM): 11th June 2019 (09.00 AM)


Course Details

  • Aligarh Muslim University law entrance exam (AMU law entrance exam) is conducted to provide admission to aspirants in the Law Courses mentioned below:


Bachelor’s Degree Course

  • BA LLB - 5 Years (10 Semesters)
  • AMU Aligarh (LLBA) 100 Seats
  • AMU Centre, Malappuram (LLBK) - 60 Seats
  • AMU Centre, Murshidabad (LLBW) - 60 Seats
  • Total – 120 Seats


LLM 2 Years (4 Semesters) - 35 Seats

  • There are 120 seats in total that are available for the purpose of admission and candidates will need to take the offline exam.

Eligibility Criteria for AMU BA LLB and LLM Admission 2019

BA LLB Course

  • The candidates seeking admission in law programmes of Aligarh Muslim University are advised to check the AMU BA LLB 2019 Eligibility Criteria before applying. It is essential for the candidates to satisfy the specific requirements stated by the University to be eligible for the exam.
  • Candidate must have qualified Senior Secondary School Certificate or an equivalent examination with an aggregate of minimum 50% marks
  • Those who have qualified the Bridge Course from AMU with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate are also eligible
  • The maximum age limit is 22 years, as noted on July 1 of the year the candidate gains admission.

Selection Process

  • AMU BA LLB Admission through AMU Admission Test. Admission shall be offered through Counselling.


LLM Course

  • All aspirants who possess a graduation degree in LLB/BA LLB course offered at Aligarh Muslim University or any other recognised university with at least 55% aggregate marks meet the AMU law entrance exam 2019 eligibility criteria for LLM course admissions.

Selection Process:

  • AMU LLM Admission through Department Test.


AMU BA LLB and LLM Admission 2019 Application Process

  • For AMU law entrance exam 2019 registrations aspirants need to apply in the online mode only. Candidates need to fill the AMU law entrance exam 2019 application form on the official website of the university www.amucontrollerexams.com
  • The application fee for AMU BA LLB 2019 is an amount of Rs.650/- for BA LLB Programs and Rs.450/- for LLM Program the candidate can pay it via a Demand Draft (in case of offline mode) or by using a credit / debit card or net banking (in case of online mode)
  • The DD should be drawn in favour of Finance Officer, A.M.U., Aligarh and should be payable at Aligarh.
  • After filling the AMU application form, aspirants can submit it either in the online mode or take a print out of it (in the PDF form) to post it at the below-mentioned address: Admission Section, Office of the Controller of Examinations, Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh-202002

AMU Law Entrance Exam Pattern 2019

AMU law entrance exam 2019 will be of two hours duration and will contain a total of 100 questions (objective and subjective)

For BA LLB Course

  • There shall be one paper of 100 marks consisting of 100 objective type questions (MCQs) on:
  • Proficiency in English: 40 Marks
  • Current Affairs/General Knowledge (with emphasis on legal issues): 30 Marks
  • Reasoning and Aptitude: 30 Marks


Exam Centers

  • AMU BA LLB 2019 exam will be conducted for at following test centres:
  • Aligarh - Murshidabad (WB)
  • Aligarh - Malappuram (Kerala)


For LLM Course

  • AMU law entrance exam 2019 pattern for LLM course is such that the question paper will contain 20 short answer-type questions of 100 marks that aspirants need to complete in a duration of two hours. It may be noted that all questions in the exam will be of LLB/ BA LLB standard, informs the official website
