PGIMER Chandigarh announces Entrance Exam for M.Sc Admission for January 2020 session

PGIMER Chandigarh M.Sc Admission 2020 – Applications have been invited by Registrar, Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education & Research Chandigarh (PGIMER), Chandigarh for admission to M.Sc. Pharmacology, M.Sc. Anaesthesia, M.Sc. Respiratory Care & Master of Audiology & Speech Language Pathology Courses of January 2020 Session.

 

About the Course

  1. Admission to M.Sc Pharmacology and M.Sc Respiratory Care courses is being conducted at the Institute twice a year i.e. January and July session every year. Master of Audiology & Speech Language Pathology course conducted for January session only.
  2. The admission to the courses imparted at the Institute is made on merit on all India basis by holding an entrance examination by the Institute, after issuing a countrywide admission notice
  3. The admission notice is published in leading English Newspapers of India usually during February/March for July session & Sept/Oct. for January session.

  3. Computer Based Entrance Test: 10th December 2019 at 09.00 AM
  4. Expected date of declaration of result: 16th December 2019 at 03.00 PM

Eligibility Criteria for PGIMER Chandigarh M.Sc Admission 2020

Qualification Requirements
M.Sc. (Pharmacology)

  1. MBBS passed or its equivalent qualification from a University/Institute recognized by the Medical Council of India or B.Sc (Anatomy, Physiology and Biochemistry taken together) or B.v.Sc. Or B. Pharma passed from a recognized University.

 

M.Sc. (Respiratory Care)

  1. B.Sc. in Medical Laboratory Technology or B.Sc. in Nursing or B.Sc. Medical or Bachelor of Physiotherapy from any University within India or equivalent degree from any other recognized University/Institute with at least 55% marks.

 

For Sponsored Candidates

  1. B.Sc. in Medical Laboratory Technology or B.Sc. in Nursing or B.Sc. Medical or Bachelor of Physiotherapy from any University within India or equivalent degree from any other recognized University/Institute with at least 55% marks and at least 3 years experience in their respective fields after obtaining qualification of B.Sc.

 

Master of Audiology & Speech Language Pathology (MASLP)

  1. For General Candidate: B.Sc. (Audiology & Speech Therapy) or Bachelor of Audiology & Speech Language Pathology from any recognized University/Institute with at least 50% marks and one year Internship after obtaining the qualification of B.Sc.
  2. For Sponsored candidate: B.Sc. (Audiology & Speech Therapy) or Bachelor of Audiology & Speech Language Pathology from any recognized University/Institute with at least 50% marks and at least 3 years experience in their respective field after obtaining qualification of B.Sc

M.Sc. (Anaesthesia)

  1. For Sponsored Candidates: B.Sc. in Medical Technology (Operation Theatre) from a recognized University with at least 55% marks and at least 3 years experience in their respective fields after obtaining qualification of B.Sc.

Selection Procedure

Competitive Entrance Test

  1. The Entrance Examination shall be conducted through an online mode (Computer Based Test). The Entrance Test shall be held on Sunday, the 10th December, 2019 and duration shall be 1 and ½ hours (One and a Half hours/90 minutes) for M.Sc. (Pharmacology) course and 1 hour (60 minutes) for rest M.Sc  courses.
  2. The Online (CBT) Entrance Test will be conducted in one shift:
  3. Timing – 09.00 AM to 10.00/10.30 AM
  4. The examination centres will be at Chandigarh only.

 

Type of Paper

  1. Candidates will be considered for selection to M.Sc courses based on a test consisting of the following
    1. Pharmacology: 100 multiple choice questions relating to fundamentals of Human Anatomy, Biochemistry, Physiology and Pharmacology. Duration will be one and half hour, (90 min
    2. Respiratory Care: 50 multiple choice questions related to their respective field. Duration will be one hour (60 minutes).
    3. Master of Audiology & Speech Language Pathology: 50 multiple choice questions related to their respective field. Duration will be one hour (60 minutes).
    4. Anaesthesia: 50 multiple choice questions related to their respective field. Duration will be one hour (60 minutes).

 

Details of Fees and Dues

  1. Registration Fee: Rs. 500/-
  2. Tuition Fee: Rs. 350/- per annum
  3. Laboratory Fee: Rs. 900/- per annum
  4. Amalgamated Fund: Rs. 720/- per annum
  5. Security: Rs. 1000/- (refundable only after completion of course)

 

Application and Examination Fee

  1. SC/ST Category: Rs. 1200/- + Transaction Charges as applicable
  2. General /OBC/Sponsored Category: Rs. 1500/- + Transaction Charges as applicable.
  3. Persons with Bench-mark Disabilities (PwBD) Candidates are exempted from payment of fee.
  4. All candidates are directed to deposit the above fees through online payment gateway
  5. Mode of Payment: Through Debit / Credit Card / Net Banking

PGIMER Chandigarh M.Sc Admission 2020 Application Process

  1. A candidate seeking admission to the Entrance Examination is required to submit his/her application in the prescribed format available online with the Prospectus on www.pgimer.edu.in.

 

Online Registration:

  1. After selecting the online registration, fill the mandatory details asked for and deposit the prescribed fee through debit/credit card/Net Banking.
  2. After submitting fees filled required information step by step. Follow the Instructions carefully.
  3. It will be the responsibility of the candidate to ensure that correct details are filled in the Registration Slip. The Institute will not be responsible for any incorrect information/cancellation of candidature/loss or lack of communication etc. due to wrong filled online Application form.
  4. No candidate should register more than one application.
  5. All applicants are required to ensure that Photo/Signature is uploaded according to the instructions provided in the Prospectus. Failure to do so may result in rejection of applications.
