NEET MDS 2019 Exam - Session National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for MDS Admissions

The National Board of Examinations (NBE) has started the online registration process for NEET MDS 2019. The aspirants can register for the entrance exam online at nbe.edu.in. The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test NEET - MDS is scheduled to be conducted on 14th December 2018 at 51 test centers.

National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) MDS 2019 exam is a National Level Exam conducted by NBE for admission to MDS Courses in various Government and Private Dental Colleges across the Country.

NEET MDS 2019 Exam - All India PG Dental Entrance Exam 2019

  • NEET-MDS 2019 exam (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) is an eligibility-cum-ranking examination prescribed as the single entrance examination to various post-graduate MDS Courses under Dentists Act, 1948
  • NEET-MDS 2019 is a single window entrance examination for all Dental PG Courses Admission Session. No other entrance examination, either at state or institution level, shall be valid for entry to MDS Courses.

 

Scope after appearing in NEET MDS 2019 Exam?

  • NEET-MDS-2019 exam shall be the single eligibility cum entrance exam namely ‘National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test for admission to Postgraduate Dental Courses’ for the academic session 2019-20 which will include the following:
  • i. All India 50% quota seats for MDS courses (all states except Andhra Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir and Telangana)
  • ii. State quota seats for MDS Courses for all States/Union territories of India (including the states of Andhra Pradesh, Jammu & and Telangana)
  • iii. MDS Diploma courses at all Private Dental Colleges, Institutions & Universities all across the country
  • iv. MDS courses at Armed Forces Medical Services Institutions

Availability of Seats & Counseling

  • Contact Directorate General of Health Services, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India for seat availability, counseling etc. for All India 50% Quota seats, Dental Educational Institutions of Central Govt., Universities established by an Act of Parliament and Deemed Universities.

 

NEET MDS 2019 Exam Eligibility Criteria

  • The eligibility criteria for Admission to MDS courses as per MDS Course Regulations 2017 notified by Dental Council of India with prior approval of MoHFW is as follows:
  • A candidate for admission to the Master in Dental Surgery course, must possess a recognised degree of Bachelor in Dental Surgery awarded by a university or institute in India and registered with the State Dental Council and has obtained provisional or permanent registration and has undergone compulsory rotatory internship of a year in an approved/ recognised dental college
  • A candidate who after passing the final qualifying exam (BDS or the foreign dental degree recognized by GOI/DCI), is undergoing 12-month compulsory rotatory internship/ practical training and is likely to complete the same by 31st March 2019 can take up this exam, but he/she shall not be eligible for admission unless he/she has completed the compulsory rotatory internship and obtained provisional or permanent registration on or before 31st March 2019 or the candidate produces a certificate from the head of Institution that he/she will be completing internship by 31st March 2019

 

Eligibility Criteria for All India 50% Quota Seats:

  • The eligibility criteria for All India 50% quota seats is as follows:
  • Candidates who have studied/passed BDS from the state of Jammu & Kashmir are not eligible for 50% All India Quota seats. However, the candidates who were nominated by the Govt. of India (under central pool seats) to do BDS from Dental Colleges in Jammu & Kashmir shall be eligible to apply
  • Such candidates must submit a duly signed affidavit declaring that he/she was nominated by the Govt. of India (under central pool seats) to do BDS from Dental Colleges in Jammu & Kashmir to the following address along with the print out of the acknowledgement of submission of online application for NEET-MDS 2019 latest by 30th November 2018

Who are not eligible to apply under this category?

  • Candidates who have done their BDS from Jammu & Kashmir but fail to submit the affidavit as indicated above will not be considered for participation in All India 50% quota counseling

 

NEET MDS 2019 - Eligibility Criteria for Foreign Nationals

  • As per MDS course Regulations 2017: It is not mandatory for foreign nationals to have temporary registration with DCI at the time of writing NEET-MDS. Foreign Nationals can write NEET-MDS without DCI registration. Provided that in the case of a foreign national, the following procedure shall be followed:
  • The Council may, on payment of the prescribed fee for registration, grant temporary registration for the duration of the post-graduate training restricted to the dental college/institution to which he or she is admitted for the time being exclusively for post-graduate studies

 

Eligibility Criteria for NRI in NEET MDS 2019

  • The definitions of NRIs, OCI and PIOs shall be in accordance with order of Hon’ble Supreme Court of India
  • The dates indicated by candidates with regard to 12 months Compulsory Rotatory Resident Internship i.e. starting date, completion date, shall be treated as final and candidates will be required to submit the original Compulsory Rotatory Resident Internship completion certificate at the time of counseling
  • No condonation of internship of 12 months period shall be accepted except (i) the students of the batch admitted during academic session 2007-08 and have completed 4 ½ year BDS course alongwith 06 months compulsory rotating internship and (ii) the students admitted during the academic session 2006-07 at Rajah Muthiah Dental College, Annamalai University those have completed 05 years BDS course without internship
  • The cutoff date for completion of internship towards determination of eligibility for appearing in NEET-MDS 2019 shall be 31st March 2019

 

Scheme of Examination

  • NEET MDS 2019 shall be held on a single day & single session only. Allocation of time for the NEET- MDS shall be as follows:
  • Allow Candidates to enter the Exam centre and commence Biometric Registration: 12:00 PM
  • Entry closes at Examination Centre: 01:30 PM
  • Grant access for Candidate Login: 01:45 PM
  • Candidates log in to read instructions: 01:50 PM
  • Exam Start Time: 02:00 PM
  • Exam End Time: 05:00 PM

 

Syllabus for NEET 2019 MDS Exam

  • The syllabus for the exam shall be that of BDS standard and shall cover all the subjects/syllabus taught during the BDS course as prescribed in the DCI Revised BDS Course Regulations, 2007 as amended from time to time
  • The exam shall be a multiple-choice questions test delivered using computers network (CBT) as per scheme prescribed. The exam comprises of 240 Multiple Choices, single correct response questions in English language only. Time allotted 3 hrs.

 

  • Negative Marking: There shall be 25% negative marking for incorrect answers. No marks will be deducted for unattempted questions

Allocation of Marks for each MCQ:

  • 1. Correct Response 4 marks
  • 2. Incorrect Response 1 mark shall be deducted
  • 3. Unattempted Question Zero
  • During the exam candidates are given an option to mark any question, whether attempted or not, for review which means that candidate has been given an option to go through these questions again before the exam time ends

  • The list of tentative cities where NEET-MDS 2019 shall be conducted is as follows:

NEET 2019 Exam for MDS Admissions Admit Card

  • The examination shall be conducted on 14th December 2018. It will be a single day exam conducted in a single session
  • At the time of online submission of application form, candidate will be required to choose the city in which he/she wants to take the test. The choice of city will depend on availability of the test centres in a particular city and the allotment shall be done on first come first serve basis
  • In case testing seat is not available in the State in which you prefer to appear in NEET-MDS 2019, you can choose the option OTHERS from the list of States at the time of selection of the State during online submission of application form
  • Such candidates shall be informed about their testing city by 21st November 2018
  • Candidates will be informed regarding their test venue approximately 7 days before the examination day

 

NEET MDS 2019 Exam Application Form

  • Applicant candidates are required to read the NEET-MDS 2019 Information Bulletin thoroughly; the information bulletin will be available at www.nbe.edu.in
  • Submission of application form for appearing in the NEET-MDS 2019 is to be undertaken online at the website www.nbe.edu.in
  • Application Forms CANNOT be submitted offline/printed copy by post

 

Exam Fee - National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for MDS Admissions

  • The prescribed exam fee of Rs. 2750/- (for SC/ST/PWD(PH) candidates) and Rs. 3750/- (for General/OBC candidates) should be remitted through payment gateway provided using a Credit Card or a Debit Card issued by banks in India or through Internet banking
  • The cutoff date for completion of internship towards determination of eligibility for appearing in NEET-MDS 2019 shall be 31st March 2019.
  • Candidates should go through the bulletin carefully for eligibility criteria, scheme, and pattern of examination etc before contacting the NBE for any queries. Queries pertaining to eligibility and other issues will only be entertained if the information requested is not given in the bulletin or on website www.nbe.edu.in

 

Important Dates for NEET MDS 2019 Exam

  • The online submission of application form for NEET-MDS 2019 begins on 16th October 2018 from 10:00 AM onwards. Online applications can be accessed and completed till 11:55 PM on 06th November 2018
  • Availability of Information Bulletin 16th October 2018 onwards
  • Online Submission of Application Form: 16th October to 06th November 2018
  • Submit a request for application form correction: 15 days before the last date of submitting the form
  • Demo Test will be Available from 01st December 2018
  • Issuance of NEET MDS 2019 Admit Card: 06th December 2018
  • NEED MDS 2019 Exam Date: 14th December 2018
  • Declaration of Results By 15th January 2019
