Admission to MBBS and BDS course for 2008-2009 Session in Government/ Self-Financing Medical/ Dental Institutions in the State of Tamil Nadu

- Issue of Application Forms (for MBBS/BDS Courses) : 03-06-2008 to 17-06-2008, upto 3.00 PM.
- Last date for submitting the filled-up application forms: 5.00 PM ON 17-06-2008
ADMISSION TO MBBS/BDS COURSE FOR 2008-2009 SESSION
Applications are invited form the citizens of India who are native of Tamil Nadu for admission to MBBS/ BDS Degree Course for 2008-2009 session in Government/ Self-Financing Medical/ Dental Institutions coming under the purview of Single Window System in the State of Tamil Nadu.
1. ISSUE OF APPLICATION FORMS WITH PROSPECTUS:
The application form with Prospectus will be issued form all the following Government Medical Colleges and Tamil Nadu Government Dental College, Chennai on all days from 03-06-2008 to 17-06-2008, upto 3.00 PM.
a. Madras Medical College, Chennai
b. Stanley Medical College, Chenna
c. Kilpauk Medical College, Chennai
d. Chengalpattu Medical College, Chengalpattu
f. Madurai Medical College, Madurai
g. Thanjavur Medical College, Thanjavur
h. Coimbatore Medical College, Coimabtore
i. Government Mohan Kumaramangalam Medical College, Salem
j. Tirunelveli Medical Colege, Tirunelveli
k. K.A.P. Viswanatham Govt. Medical College, Tiruchirapalli
l. Thoothukudi Government Medical College, Thoothukudi
m. Kanyakumari Govt. Medical College, Nagercoil
n. Vellore Govt. Medical College, Vellore
o. Theni Govt. Medical College, Theni
p. Tamil Nadu Govt. Dental College, Chennai
Application forms will not be issued from the Directorate of Medical Education and Office of the Selection committee, Kilpauk, Chennai-10.
2. Candidates can obtain application on a written requisition to the Deans/ Principal of the above Government Medical Institutions duly enclosing a Crossed Demand Draft from any Nationalised Bank dated not earlier than 01-06-2008 payable at Chennai in favour of “THE SECRETARY, SELECTION COMMITTEE, KILPAUK, CHENNAI-10”, towards the cost of application form with Prospectus.
3. Cost of Application Form:
(i) Application Form for MBBS/ BDS (Common to all): Rs.500/-
(ii) Application Form for each Special Category for MBBS and BDS Courses (if applicable): Rs.100/-
SC/ST candidate are exempted form payment of cost of application and Prospectus. They can obtain the application on written requisition duly enclosing two sets of attested Xerox copy of the Community Certificate and the copy of Plus Two Marks Sheet.
Only one application has to be sent for both MBBS/BDS admission. Applications can also download from the Website: http://www.tnhealth.org. / www.tn.gov.in and can be submitted along with the required Demand Draft. (Rs.500/- or Rs.100/- as the case may be). SC/ST candidates need not enclose Demand Draft.
4. Applications for Special Categories:
(i) Children of Freedom Fighters
(ii) Children of Ex-Servicemen
(iii) Eminent Sports persons
(iv) Physically Handicapped
Candidates applying under Special Category should submit the Special Category application along with Common Application Form. For each Special Category one form has to be submitted. Candidates applying under Sports Category should hand over the applications with necessary documents only in person at the Office of the Selection Committee, Chennai-10. Without required documents, their claim will not be considered under any circumstances. For further details are available in the prospectus.
5. LAST DATE FOR RECEIPT OF APPLICATION FORMS WITH ENCLOSURES IS UPTO 5.00 PM ON 17-06-2008 IN THE OFFICE OF The Secretary, Selection Committee, No.162, Periyar E.V.R. High Road, Kilpauk, Chennai-600010 either in person or by post.
6. Applications received after the prescribed date and time will not be considered and postal delay cannot condoned.
