Teach for India Fellowship 2024 – Teach for India invites youths and professionals for a two-year, full-time, paid commitment towards Fellowship program to serve as full-time teachers to children from low-income communities in some of the nation’s most under-resourced schools.

About the Teach for India Fellowship

  • The Teach For India Fellowship is an opportunity for India’s brightest and most promising individuals to serve as full-time teachers to children from underserved communities.
  • Through this experience, our Fellows cultivate the knowledge, skills and mindset necessary to become leaders in the movement for educational equity.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Completed graduation by June/July 2024.
  • Are applying for the first time for 2024 Fellowship cohort, since July 2023.
  • Are a citizen of India or Overseas Citizen of India (OCI).




  • Teach For India Fellows will be paid a salary of Rs. 19,000 per month.
  • Housing allowance ranging from Rs.5500 to 10,000, depending

Selection Process

  • Stage I: Application Form – Introduce yourself by sharing your academic and professional history, as well as your interests, experiences, and motivations for joining the Fellowship. As Fellows teach in English, an online English Assessment evaluates your proficiency in the language as part of the online application.
  • Stage II: Phone Interview – For some applicants, we want to know more and we do so through a 30-minute phone interview.
  • Stage III: Assessment Centre – The final stage of selection! Here you’ll engage with Teach For India and other applicants through activities including sample teaching, critical thinking, a group activity and an interview.


What do our Fellows do?

  • Our Fellows are placed in one of 8 cities across India (Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai, Pune), in an English medium government or low-income private school. Here, they spend 2 years as a full time class teacher or subject teacher (specifically English, Maths, Social Studies or Science) to Students from 1-10th standard.
