Karnataka Biotechnology Skill Enhancement Program announces Job Oriented PG Diploma Course 2019
KIBTS PG Diploma Admission 2019 – Online applications are invited for admission to job oriented one year Post Graduate Diploma courses that provide for job ready workforce to the Biotechnology industry through Bi SEP.
The 2nd Phase of BTFS renamed as Biotechnology Skill Enhancement Programme (BiSEP) aims to continue to educate and empower human resource to bridge the gap between biotech industry and academia. A very unique initiative in India covers 9 Biotech Domains in 18 reputed PG institutions across 8 districts of Karnataka

Objective
- Impart industry-oriented skill-upgrading training
- Enhance employability in biotech sector
- Train & mentor students/faculty from different districts of Karnataka
- Nurture the local talent and create an ecosystem of entrepreneurship and growth of biotech sector
- Create research environment that foster excellent R&D in host institutions to address challenges existing in areas of Agriculture,
- Health, Energy, Environment and other sectors

- Fermentation and Bioprocessing

- Nutraceuticals and Food Processing
- Plant Genetic Engineering
- Protein Expression and Scale up
Duration
- 12 months divided into two semesters
- 6-month Academic training
- 6-months Industry Internship
Eligibility Criteria for KIBTS PG Diploma Admission 2019
- M.Sc in Biotech/ Microbiology/ Biochemistry/ Bioinformatics or any other Life Sciences related courses) or B.E/ B.Tech (Biotech/ Bioinformatics) or B. Pharma/ B.Sc (Agri)/ BVsc. or any 4 years degree courses in Life science and subjects with minimum 50% marks in the qualifying degree examination (40% for students belonging to SC/ST categories)
Reservation of seats:
- 50% seats are reserved for Resident students of Karnataka. Reservations under OBC/SC/ST and Hyderabad- Karnataka region are also provided
Selection Process
- Through online entrance test- Karnataka Biotechnology Aptitude Test (K-BAT) and counselling.
- KBAT consist total of 100 multiple choice questions.
- Time duration for the exam is 1 hour i.e. 60 minutes
Student Fellow Support:
- Programme supported by Fellowship of Rs. 10,000/- pm per candidate selected.

KIBTS PG Diploma Admission 2019 Application Process
- Application form, modalities for submission of online application for KBAT, online exam fees, and all other terms and conditions are available at www.bisep.karnataka.gov.in
- The candidates will be asked to provide personal and academic details at the time of applying for registering for the KBAT. Documents to be produced:
- SSLC/ 10th Standard Marks card
- 2nd PUC/12th Standard Marks card
- Bachelor and/ or Master Degree Marks card
- If claiming reservation benefits, Certificate issued by the concerned competent Authority
