Faculty of Business and Law at University of Newcastle, Australia invites applications for LLM Scholarships 2016 for students enrolled in the Master of Laws (LLM) program in the Faculty of Business and Law.

Scholarship Details

Master of Laws Scholarships: 2 Scholarships will be offered annually; these Scholarships provide $2,000 for the student’s first semester in the program, and $2,000 for the student’s second semester in the program, provided scholarship criteria are met and payable after satisfactory academic progress has been demonstrated
English Language Scholarships: 3 Scholarships will be offered; the scholarship will provide a benefit of $3,800 to each of these students and; the benefit will not be awarded until the student has successfully completed ELICOS and enrolled full-time into the Master of Laws (LLM)

Eligibility Criteria:

Master of Laws Scholarships: To be eligible to apply for this scholarship candidate must meet the following criteria:
Be enrolled in the LLM program in the Faculty of Business and Law
Be enrolled in the first year of the program of study
Be enrolled full-time (minimum 30 units)
Not hold another scholarship for the same program
Be an International student

English Language Scholarships: To be eligible to apply for this scholarship you must meet the following criteria:
Be enrolled in the Advanced English for Academic Purposes (EAP) ELICOS program at the University of Newcastle
Have received and accepted an offer from the University of Newcastle for entry into the Master of Laws (LLM), conditional on successful completion of ELICOS
Possess an overall test score of 6.0 in the International English Language Testing System (IELTS)
Be an International student

Selection Procedure

Master of Laws Scholarships: Selection of the scholar will be on the basis of academic merit, financial need, performance at interview
English Language Scholarships: Selection of the scholar will be on the basis of academic qualifications to meet Master of Laws (LLM) entry requirement, overall IELTS score of at least 6.0, receipt and acceptance of an offer from the University of Newcastle for entry into the LLM, Performance at interview if required

Candidates can apply online. To apply for a student loan, please email your completed application form and supporting documentation to the student loans and welfare officer for your campus
The student loans and welfare office will contact you to inform you of the outcome of your application
