Literature, Language and Cultures (LLC) Masters Scholarships 2015-16

University of Edinburgh, UK, invites applications for LLC Masters Scholarships for students pursuing their masters program of study within the School of Literatures, Languages and Cultures (LLC) for the session 2015-16

The School will award 10 scholarships to outstanding students

We will be awarding four Arthur Kitchin Scholarships and six LLC Scholarships

These exciting new schemes are designed to attract the best and brightest candidates to study in Edinburgh

Scholarship Details

Each of the 10 awards will cover:

Tuition fees for a maximum of one year at the Home/EU rate (£8,100). Successful non-EU/Overseas applicants will be liable for the difference between the Home/EU and Overseas fees rates.

Applicants to two-year programmes or part-time programmes including distance learning are eligible to apply for the scholarships, but they will be liable for any tuition fees that exceed the one year Home/EU rate of £8,100

Any additional programme costs are not included in this award and applicants will remain liable for this cost

Eligibility

Applicants for these awards must have applied for a Masters programme of study within the School of Literatures, Languages and Cultures before 31st January 2015

Their references must have been submitted by 15th February 2015; the awards will be made based on academic merit

Successful applicants are likely to hold or be predicted to achieve a first class honours undergraduate degree (or overseas equivalent) in a relevant field

In addition, the academic statement should make a strong case for the candidate’s aptitude and plans for the chosen programme of study; PhD students are not eligible to apply for this scheme

How to Apply

To apply for a scholarship candidate must first apply for admission for an eligible program of study at the University of Edinburgh

Candidates can apply online

Once you have applied for admission you will receive your University Username (UUN); your UUN is the letter’s followed by your matriculation number; for example, s0987654

Only applicants who have received an offer of admission (conditional or unconditional) on the closing date of the scholarship will be considered by the panel

Please note that you will not be able to access the online application form unless you have applied for admission to the University of Edinburgh and have full EASE authentication

Important Date

Eligible students should complete an online scholarship application before the application deadline of 16th February 2015
