University of British Columbia Graduate Global Leadership Scholarships 2017
Applications are invited by The University of British Columbia, Canada for Graduate Global Leadership Scholarships for students from developing countries to pursue doctoral studies at UBC for the academic year 2017
The fellowships are to support international students showing outstanding leadership in humanitarian and development work in their home country

Scholarship Details
Two new fellowships will be offered each year
Scholarships are valued at $18,200 per year plus tuition for four years
Eligibility Criteria
Candidate must:
Hold a study permit at the beginning of the fellowship-funding period;
Be a citizen of a developing country;
Have shown outstanding leadership in humanitarian and development work in their home country;
Be starting a PhD or DMA Programme at the UBC Vancouver campus in September 2017
Selection Procedure
Selection is done on the basis of Academic Excellence (30%); Research Ability/Potential (30%); and Leadership in development of civil and sustainable society in home country (40%)

Completed and signed Graduate Global Leadership Fellowship application form www.grad.ubc.ca
Students complete application form and request supporting documents (transcripts, letters of reference – see application form for details)
Students submit their application package to their UBC graduate program – applications submitted directly to the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies will not be accepted. Students are advised to verify their graduate program’s deadline well in advance
