SOAS University of London (UK) invites applications for Bishwa Bangla Scholarships for pursuing full-time PhD and Master Programmes offered at the University for the session commencing in 2017

Scholarship Details
There is one Scholarship for PhD and two Scholarships for masters programs
The total value of the Scholarships is £32,874 for PhD and £35,111 for masters
The Masters Scholarships are for one year only. The duration of the PhD scholarship is 4 years subject to satisfactory progress
Note: The scholarship cannot be held along with any other major scholarship or studentship
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible, candidate:
Must be ordinarily resident in West Bengal, India
Must be eligible to pay fees at the overseas rate
Must have an offer of admission to pursue one of the eligible full-time master’s programs or any full-time PhD programme at the university
Must meet the English language condition of their offer of admission to study at SOAS
Selection Procedure
The assessment of the application will be based on the information in the scholarship application and academic merit

Candidates can apply online (www.soas.ac.uk)
In order to be considered for this scholarship, you must ALSO submit a complete online application to your programme. It is recommended to apply for the programme about six weeks BEFORE the scholarship deadline (that is, by 11th January 2017)
Please note that complete applications for admission can take up to 4 weeks to be considered by the Department, although this duration can vary depending on the time of year.
You should be prepared to wait up to 6 weeks in busy periods
Late or incomplete applications will not be considered
