Govt. Of Punjab announces Post Matric Scholarship Scheme for Minority Students 2018

 Punjab Post Matric Scholarship Scheme for Minority Students 2018 – Online applications are invited from students belonging to minority communicates (Sikhs, Muslims, Christian, Buddhists, Parsis and Jains) pursuing studies in Govt. or Private Senior Secondary Schools/Colleges/Universities including residential institutes, Polytechnics, ITI’s Industrial Training Centers affiliated with NCVT, approved by an competent authority, for awarding scholarship under Post-Matric Scholarship Scheme for the session 2018-19 through the National Scholarship Portal of the Govt. of India, under www.scholarships.gov.in

This scheme is being implemented as 100% Central Sponsored Scheme

Eligibility Criteria/Conditions for Scholarship

  • Annual income of the parent or guardian of the students should not exceed Rs.2.00 lacs from all sources
  • Scholarship is to be awarded to the students who have secured not less than 50% marks in the previous final examination
  • Scholarship will not be given to more than two students in a family
  • A Scholarship holder under this scheme will not avail any other scholarship/stipend for pursuing the same course
  • The students should be resident of Punjab State and regular in attendance

Rate of Scholarship
1. Admission & Tuition Fee for Class XI and XII

  • Hosteller – Actual Subject to a maximum ceiling of Rs.7000/- p.a.
  • Day-Scholar – Actual Subject to a maximum ceiling of Rs.7000/- p.a.

2. Admission and Course/Tuition Fee for Technical Vocational Courses of XI & XII) level

  • Hosteller – Actual Subject to a maximum ceiling of Rs.10,000/- p.a.
  • Day-Scholar – Actual Subject to a maximum ceiling of Rs.10,000/- p.a.

3. Admission and Course/Tuition Fee Undergraduate, Postgraduate

  • Hosteller – Actual Subject to a maximum ceiling of Rs.3,000/- p.a.
  • Day-Scholar – Actual Subject to a maximum ceiling of Rs.3,000/- p.a.

4. Maintenance allowance for 10 months only in an academic year form admission date
i) Classes XI & XII including technical and vocational courses for this level

  • Hosteller – Actual Subject to a maximum ceiling of Rs.380/- p.m.
  • Day-Scholar – Actual Subject to a maximum ceiling of Rs.230/- p.m.

ii) Courses other than technical and professional courses under graduate and post graduate level

  • Hosteller – Actual Subject to a maximum ceiling of Rs.570/- p.m.
  • Day-Scholar – Actual Subject to a maximum ceiling of Rs.300/- p.m.

iii) M.Phil. & PhD (for those researchers who are not awarded any fellowship by university or any other authority)

  • Hosteller – Actual Subject to a maximum ceiling of Rs.1200/- p.m.
  • Day-Scholar – Actual Subject to a maximum ceiling of Rs.550/- p.m.

 

Application Procedure

  • The eligible students can apply online on the website www.scholarship.gov.in. Students will forward their applications online to the Schools/Colleges/Institutions and fresh students will take a print out of the same
  • This print out along with all requisite documents (as prescribed in the print out) will be submitted to the concerned institutions
  • Students will get a permanent ID, which he/she will retain/keep with him/her for any further correspondence etc.
  • Fresh/Renewal candidates will upload the prescribed scanned documents at the time of apply
  • The Schools/Colleges/Institutions are advised to register themselves and their courses details on the NSP by 15th August 2018 so that their students can apply, and they can verify such application on the portal without any delay
  • Students/Institutes are advised to read the “FAQ’s and information for institutes” available on the home-page of the website carefully before filling online applications and scrutiny by the institutes
