POSCO announces Visiting Fellowship Program 2019

POSCO Visiting Fellowship Program 2019 – Pohang Iron & Steel Co, Ltd. POSCO Visiting Fellowship Program is awarded by Pohang Iron & Steel Co (POSCO), Ltd. is a 12 months program and proposed to encourage the research activities on Korean topics at the East West Center. Posco Visiting Fellowship Program Notification 2019 has been announced.

 

POSCO invites exceptional candidates and policy makers to involve them in policy-relevant, contemporary research on political, security, and economic issues in Northeast Asia, as they relate to Korea

Nature of the Fellowship

  • Each year, from the beginning of March to the end of February of the following year, the East-West Center hosts four to six POSCO Visiting Fellows. The POSCO Visiting Fellows are in residence at the East-West Center for one to two months and undertake research and writing on an agreed topic
  • Fellows may also be asked to participate in local outreach and public-diplomacy activities.  Proposals for cost-shared fellowships are welcomed.

 

Areas of Research

  • In particular, the POSCO Fellowship Program is intended to generate constructive and informative research in four important areas (1) issues concerning the two Koreas and Northeast Asia; (2) security issues involving Korea and Northeast Asia; (3) economic and social issues in Korea; and (4) political development in South Korea

 

Eligibility Criteria for POSCO Visiting Fellowship Program 2019

  • POSCO Visiting Fellowship Program is open for all Nationalities persons. There is no restrictions on age. Any age group people can apply for the fellowship

 

Benefits Provided

  • The selected candidates of fellowship program will be provided with the following benefits
  • Fellows will receive a stipend and round-trip economy airfare from their hometown and Honolulu
  • Fellows will require to give one seminar, prepare a high-quality paper to be submitted for publication and join in East-West Center activities
  • The selected candidates may also be asked to participate in local outreach and public diplomacy activities

 

POSCO Visiting Fellowship Program 2019 Application Process​

  • Applicants should have to submit a covering letter indicating the research theme or project for which the applicant is applying; curriculum vitae of the Applicant should be needed; submit the Names of 3 referees indicating full name, title, address, telephone and fax number, and email address
  • Submission of Application Form: Applicant should have to mail the duly filled in Application Form along with above mentioned supportive documents through mail to [email protected]
