University of Oslo PhD Research Fellowships 2018

 

The University of Oslo invites application from the candidates for the PhD Research at Department of Informatics, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences for the year 2018

The fellowships will be provided for a period of 3 years. The aim of providing the scholarship is to achieve a balanced gender composition in the organization and to recruit people with ethnic minority backgrounds

Topics for the PhD fellows:

Topic 1: Secure and privacy-preserved system for smart home and neighborhood. We will identify the new cyber security and privacy challenges in the smart neighborhood. Then, we will propose new solutions to defend against cyber attacks

Topic 2: Machine learning and deep learning for energy forecasting. Precise forecasting is very important for the stability of the future energy systems. We will study predictive analytics techniques for power stability, including regression, neural networks and other machine learning approaches for real-time and historical analytics
In addition, the renewable energy forecasting will be an important problem in this topic

 



 

Fellowship Award
NOK 436 900 – 490 900 per year salary will be given which depends on qualifications and seniority. In addition to Oslo’s family-friendly environment, attractive welfare benefits and a generous pension agreement will be provided with its rich opportunities for culture and outdoor activities

 

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible applicant must have:

A Master’s degree or equivalent in computer science or electrical engineering, or control engineering with excellent results; Good knowledge in programming and mathematics
Good command of English

Fellowship requires admission to the PhD Program at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences. The application to the PhD Program must be submitted to the department no later than two months after taking up the position
