Government of Odisha invites application for Scholarships Scheme from meritorious students to purse P.G. Studies in Basic Sciences 2017-18
In order to promote and encourage the meritorious brilliant students to pursue their Post Graduate studies in Basic Science subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Botany, Zoology & Geology, Govt. of Odisha has introduced a Scholarship Program under the aegis of The State Council on Science & Technology, Department of Science & Technology, Govt. of Odisha

Scholarships Details
No. of Scholarship: 200 (Physics – 32, Chemistry – 32, Botany – 32, Zoology – 32, Geology – 32, Mathematics – 40)
Amount & Tenure: Rs.2000/- (Two thousand) per month for a period of two years or completion of Post Graduate course, whichever is earlier
Eligibility
Applicant for the scholarship shall be a permanent resident of Odisha
Applicant must have passed the regular full time +3 stream final exams with 1st class Honours in any one of the subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Botany, Zoology and Geology. The candidate should be in the 1st year of the concerned P.G regular course at the time of application
The selected candidate shall avail the scholarship only if he/she pursues Post Graduate course in the Govt. Colleges/Govt. Autonomous Colleges/Universities/Govt. Aided Autonomous Colleges/Govt. aided private Colleges recognized by Govt. of Odisha
This Scholarship will be the single scholarship he or she can avail during the postgraduate course. Scholarship is not admissible for a candidate who shall be in receipt of any other financial assistance from any other source given by Govt.
Selection Procedure
For selection, there shall be a written test of 2 hours duration in the respective subjects i.e Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Botany, Zoology and Geology. The criterion for awarding this scholarship shall be strictly on the merit assessed through the written test
If necessary, there may be a viva-voce test for short listed candidates
Application
Candidates are required to apply in the prescribed application form to the Director, Institute of Mathematics & Applications, Bhubaneswar latest by 23rd September 2017 for appearing a written test to be held on 26th November 2017 at 02.00 pm to 04.00 pm at different Exam Centres
Application completed in all respect in the prescribed form should reach the Director, Institute of Mathematics and Applications, Bhubaneswar-751029 by Registered /Speed post (not by courier) on or before 20th September 2017, 04.00 pm
