NSF College Scholarships: This program is meant for economically backward students in India who have obtained merit-based admission to professional courses like Engineering, Medicine, Agriculture, Nursing, Polytechnic etc. in Govt or Govt-aided colleges or under Govt quota seats in private colleges

The scholarship is an annual award and not a one-time payment

The student is eligible for the scholarship until graduation as long as he/she maintains high academic standards

NFS has distributed more than 4500 scholarships to students

NSF provides scholarships to undergraduate students entering info engineering, medicine or 3-year polytechnic (diploma in engineering) based on merit and financial need

The 2014 Regional contests will be held on one of the following dates

March 15 – March 16

April 5 – April 6

April 26 – April 27

NFS National Final will be held on 16th – 17th August 2014 at Dallas, TX

Eligibility Criteria

The student has to be amongst the top 10% in 10th and 12th and CET/JET ranks in your state; (OR)

The students should have secured admission to professional courses like Engineering, Medicine, and

Polytechnic in a GOVERNMENT COLLEGE (including seats in Government Aided colleges) and do not receive other aid or scholarships

The annual family income is less than Rs 65,000

Reward

Scholarship amounts range from over 5,000 and INR 5,000 to INR 15,000 per students year

Selection Process

The academic record is seen as the criteria for selection of the candidates

Apart from reviewing academic records and income statements, NFS will also review the special circumstances under which the student is submitting his / her application

Preference is given to:

Students coming from government schools and colleges

Fresh students going to government colleges

Students getting the top rank in the first attempt

Students not getting other scholarships

North South Foundation is the last resort for financial assistance to a needy student

Candidates are short listed based on their applications and will be called for an interview along with their parents for final selection)

Here is how to start filling your online application: To fill your on-line application you MUST have an email id. If you do not have an email id, you can create one on mail.google.com -> CREATE AN ACCOUNT

You need to remember this email-id and password for future use. Additionally, you will receive emails from NSF only at the email id you provide.

The application can be sent through post or online. No participation fees are charged.
