Norman E. Borlaug International Agricultural Science and Technology Fellowship Program 2016
U.S. Department of Agriculture is now accepting applications for the 2016 Norman E. Borlaug International Agricultural Science and Technology Fellowship Program
The program offers training and collaborative research opportunities to scientists, researchers, and policymakers from 32 eligible countries
Fellows will work one-on-one with a mentor at a U.S. university, research center, or government agency, usually for 8-12 weeks; the U.S. mentor will later visit the fellow’s home institution to continue collaboration

Eligibility Criteria
There are 32 countries are selected for Norman E. Borlaug International Agricultural Science and Technology Fellowship Program. India is one of them
The applicant should have the nationality among the 32 eligible countries; candiddates must be knowing of English language and should fluent in it
Students should hold a Master’s or higher Degree
Candidates who is applying should be in the early or middle stage of their career, with minimum 2 years of practical experience; the applicant can be employed by a university, govt. agency or research entity in their home country
Provided Benefits
The selected candidates will have to work one by one with amentor at a U.S. university, research center or government agency, usually for 8-12 weeks (2 months to 3 months)
Selection Procedure
The applicants who show their plan to continue working with their home country after the completion of fellowship program will be selected
i) The Academic & Professional Research interests and achievements of the candidates
ii) Level of scientific competence will also matter
iii) Aptitude for scientific research
iv) Leadership potential of a candidate
v) Possibility of bringing back new ideas to their home institution
