Newton International Fellowships 2018 Notification – Royal Society Newton International Fellowship 2018 is a fellowship given to candidates having PhD degree and have an experience, not more than 7 years

The scheme covers the broad range of the natural and social sciences and the humanities. It also covers clinical and patient orientated research for candidates from Newton Fund partner countries.

Scheme’s Value & Tenure

Approximately 40 Newton International Fellowships will be available in this round, with additional Fellowships awarded to individuals from Newton Fund countries. Additional fellowships are also made available by private foundations.

Fellows will receive up to £2,000 for relocation expenses, £24,000 per annum for subsistence (tax-exempt) and up to £8,000 per annum for research expenses, for the duration of the award

In addition, UK host universities will receive 50% of the annual value of the Fellowship as a contribution towards their overhead costs

Eligibility Criteria

Candidate must have a PhD degree. Candidate must have an experience of active full time postdoctoral, not more than 7 years.
Candidate must be working outside the UK.
Candidate must not hold UK citizenship.
Candidate must have fluency in both oral and written English.
Candidate must have a clearly defined and mutually-beneficial research proposal agreed with a UK host scientist

 

Application Procedure

Applications should be submitted through the Royal Society’s grants management system (Flexi-Grant)

Applications are initially reviewed by two members of the Newton International Fellowships panel and then shortlisted

Applications are then reviewed again by the panel and the final decision is made
