Nehru Memorial Museum & Library NMML Research Fellowships 2018 – Applications are invited by Nehru Memorial Museum and Library (NMML) for the award of fellowships to scholars to pursue research in (i) India: Recent Historical Trends and Developments (ii) India in Transition: Issues and Challenges (iii) India and the Wider World

Fellowship Details

  • The fellowships are offered at two levels:Fellow and Senior Fellow
  • The emoluments, including allowances, will correspond to that of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor and Professor of Central Universities, respectively. CPF/GPF facilities will be extended only to scholars having permanent jobs in Govt. /Government funded Institutions who take up the Fellowship after taking leave without pay from their parent institutions
  • All the selected Fellows would be required to undertake their research work/project by making NMML as their base. They will be allowed the study tour/safter obtaining approval

Duration

  • Fellowships offered are for a duration of two years only
  • Fellows will be based in Delhi except for a maximum of five fellows of the total strength who may be permitted by the Selection Committee to be based outside Delhi

Scholarship Award

  • Fellows are provided with:
  • emoluments, including allowances, will correspond to that of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor and Professor of Central Universities respectively
  • an amount equal to annual increment in post in parent department according to the dates when it will falls due to you there
  • Senior Fellows/Fellows will be reimbursed contingent expenses up to the ceiling limit of Rs 30,000/- per annum, while Junior Fellows will be reimbursed contingent expenses up to the ceiling limit of Rs 25,000/- per annum, which they may incur on travel, purchase of stationery, books (not available in our Library), typing, photocopying, etc.
  • The claims may be submitted by the Fellows in the prescribed proforma along with supporting cash memos, receipts/details of expenditure every month to the office for reimbursement
  • The Junior Fellows/Fellows/Senior Fellows of the NMML can carryforward 50% of the total contingency amount earmarked for the first year of fellowship to the second year

 

Eligibility

Qualifications

  • Senior Fellow: Scholars of eminence who have made a significant contribution to the knowledge in their respective fields and preferably have experience of conducting and guiding research
  • For Fellow: Good academic record, a PhD or equivalent published work and at least five years teaching/post-doctoral research experience

 

Application

  • Interested scholars are requested to send an application along with a note of about 2000 words on the proposed project to be undertaken with the following information: Name, Address, Date of Birth, Academic Record from High School onwards, Details of post-graduate work and list of publications with copies of at least two recent publications, Details of how employed so far and Recommendations from two referees
  • The envelope with above details and clearly marked “Application for Fellowship” must be sent to “The Director, Nehru Memorial Museum and Library, Teen Murti House”, New Delhi-110011
  • Applications for the current round of fellowship should reach the NMML on or before 02nd August 2018
