The Lore Foundation, India, announces Scholarship 2014 for School Students. Scholarships worth Rs. 10.5 crore for 200 + students every year. The Lore India Foundation National Benchmarking and Scholarship Program is one of the country’s largest in terms of number of students and scholarships funds. Supported by Tata Consultancy Services and Axis Bank, the program aims to identify and recognize merit above all else

The Lore India Foundation scholarships are promoted by the top academicians in the country such as Prof. Seyed E. Hasnain, Professor IIT Delhi, Dr. Hari Gautam, former UGC Chairman, Dr. S.B. Siwach, Chairman PG Committee, Medical Council of India, Prof. Ranbir National Law University and many more eminent personalities

The Lore Foundation Scholarship is supported by TCS and Axis Bank

There is also a reward program for schools based on the performance of school students in LAT-Learning Aptitude Test

Eligibility Criteria

The applicant:

Should be enrolled in Classes X, XI or XII at the time of applying

Must be a citizen or permanent resident of India

Should be planning to pursue an undergraduate program from a recognized and accredited Indian or foreign university in any discipline

Reward: The total amount of scholarship on offer under this program is Rs.5 crore. There will be 103 scholarships that would be given on the basis of Learning Aptitude Test – LAT

The scholarship available as per the rank secured by an applicant is:

1st rank: Rs. 50 lakh
2nd rank: Rs. 30 lakh
3rd rank: Rs. 20 lakh
4th to 53rd rank: Rs. 5 lakh each
54th to 103rd rank: Rs. 3 lakh each

Description of the Scholarship Award: The Scholarship will be in the form of interest generating trust fund which can be used for a period of 7 years from the date of the award

After the lapse of 7 years period the unused amount of scholarship would revert to Lore India Scholarship Programme

It will be paid directly to the educational institute

Mentorship Program: Apart from the cash award the student will also be a part of the mentorship program where the selected scholars will undergo a comprehensive psychometric analysis / interest schedule on the basis of which the student will be counseled and guided for their further studies

i) For pursuing undergraduate education any discipline in Indian or Foreign University

ii) For preparation of an entrance exam required for admission into any UG Course

Lore India Scholarship award for School Students

Top 3 schools (maximum number of students in top 50,000) based on the performance of the students in LAT will be awarded cash prizes and recognition certificate at the National event of Lore India Foundation

The Reward as per the rank secured by a school is:

1st Rank: Rs. 25 lakh
2nd Rank: Rs. 15 lakh
3rd Rank: Rs. 10 lakh

The Reward to school is meant for helping meritorious students of disadvantaged backgrounds, improvement of school infrastructure, for acquiring new technology and learning tools for class room teaching, teacher’s recruitment

Selection Process

The students will have to undergo an aptitude test LAT conducted by TCS for the selection in the scholarship

The applicants will be shortlisted through the Learning Aptitude Test (LAT) and awarded the scholarship in accordance with their rank in the test. If it is not possible to rank the applicants on the basis of their score in the LAT, there will be a second round of examination, the format of which will be decided by the Governing Council of the Lore India Foundation Scholarship Program.

Register for Online: The school also has to register for the Recognition and Reward Program for schools. There are no fees to be paid for this.

Application Fee: The application fee for this program is Rs. 1850/-. Applicants have the option to pay the fee via two methods:

Online Payment: The student can either pay the application fees online at the time of registration or through cash

Cash Payment: The student can also pay the application fees by cash at any branch of Axis Bank across India. The student has to download the pay in slip from the Lore India Foundation website and fill in the required details. The student then has to deposit the scholarship fees with the bank copy and will get the stamped Student copy as acknowledgement.

Admit Card: The Students will receive the hall tickets for the scholarship test by 1st week for September through e-mail

Application Process: The student has to register for the scholarship online through Lore India Foundation website www.lorefoundation.org

What is Learning Aptitude Test-LAT

i) LAT is an aptitude and ability based test which is used to determine the student ability and aptitude for advanced learning

ii) LAT will be a common test for students for Class 10-12

iii) The test is designed comprehensively such that it will give importance to meaningful and active learning

iv) There will be many parameters on which the student would be judged and overall a composite score would be arrived on the basis of which the final rank would be decided

v) The test is designed by TCS and Lore India Foundation and LAT will be conducted by TCS at pan India level

Selection process for Lore India Foundation Scholarship:

i) The selection of the student to the test will purely be based on the merit / rank by student in LAT

ii) The students will be ranked at the National, board and state level

iii) LAT test will be conducted on September 28, 2014 in following towns/ cities. There are around 190 cities where the test will be conducted for Lore India Foundation Scholarship 2014

iv) If will not be possible to rank the applicants on the basis of their LAT score then there will be a second round of examination

The format of the second round will be decided by the Governing Council of the Lore India Foundation Scholarship Program
