ICAR-JUNIOR RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP

INDIAN COUNCIL OF AGRICULTURAL RESEARCH PUSA, NEW DELHI COMBINED EXAMINATION FOR ICAR-JUNIOR RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP & ADMISSION TO MASTER’S DEGREE PROGRAMME IN SAU’s, CAU & DU’s

  • Combined Examination for the Award of ICAR Junior Research Fellowship & Admission to 100% Seats of Master’s Degree Programme at Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), Indian Veterinary Research Institute (IVRI), Central Institute of Fisheries Education (CIEF) & National Dairy Research Institute (NDRI), 25% Seats to State Agricultural Universities (SAU’s) & Central Agricultural University (CAU) by ICAR.

Applications are invited for Combined Examination for the Award of ICAR Junior Fellowships (JRF) & Admission to 100% Seats of Master’s Degree Programme at IARI, IVRI, CIEF, NDRI & 25% seats to SAU’s & CAU in the field of Agriculture, Veterinary & Allied Science. The fellowships are tenable in Agricultural Universities/ICAR Institutes or other ICAR approved Institutions (BHU, AMU & Vishwa Bharti). The Fellowship will be at the rate of Rs. 5,000 pe month for graduate of Veterinary Science and Rs. 3,600 per month for graduate in other discipline for a period of two years with a Contingent Grant of Rs. 6,000 per annum for procurement of essential Chemicals, Equipments, Books & Travel allowances connected with collection of Research data. Continuance of Fellowship after 1 st year is dependent on maintaining required OGPA as per ICAR guidelines.

Admission as well as JRF would be available only if the student opts to join Master’s Degree programme in a University/Institute other than from where he/she has obtained Bachelor’s Degree except for DU’s, which admit 100% seats on the basis of All India Entrance Test.

  • Eligibility: Only those candidates having their Bachelor’s Degree in the concerned field under 10+2+4 or 10+2+3 (or under 10+2+2 prior to 1985) are eligible to apply for admission. Candidates must have obtained at least 60% marks or an overall grade points average (OGPA) equivalent to 60% marks as certified by the Registrar of the University (For SC/ST candidates 55% marks or OGPA equivalent to 55% marks as certified by the Registrar of the University (for TNAU & TNVASU the minimum eligibility is 70% marks or equivalent to OPGA). For admission in the subjects of Veterinary Sciences, the candidates must have completed B.V. Sc. & A.H. with Internship before the date of registration in the University. He/she should be an Indian national. Students from 10+2+3 stream are eligible for admission in some Universities and they will have to complete one year “Bridge” course during which no fellowship will be paid.

The candidates who are likely to appear at the Bachelor’s Degree Examination in the year of the advertisement are also eligible to apply provisionally for admission test, but they will have to submit documentary evidence from the Registrar of the University of their acquiring eligibility on the date notified by the University/Institute for admission to Master’s Degree programmes, otherwise their candidature will not be considered at the time of Counselling.

Graduate from Non-Agricultural stream are eligible for admission to Master’s Degree programme only in specified subjects and in selected University/Institute, but for them the duration of Master Degree programme would be of 3 years, as 1 st year will be for completing remedial courses in Agricultural and no fellowship would be paid during the first year to such candidates.   • Minimum Age Limit: 19 years on a date of August.

Counter Sale by Cash Payment: Information Bulletin containing the Application Forms and other details will be available from a date of March and can be had against CASH PAYMENT of Rs. 400 + 5 (Sale charges) for General Category and Rs. 200 + 5 (Sale charges) for Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe category from Registrar’s Office of State Agricultural Universities, Central Agricultural University, Imphal, (Manipur) and Syndicate Bank, K.A.B. Extension Counter, Pusa, New Delhi-110012. The Bank, Agricultural Universities and Institutes will not be responsible, if the forms are not available at the places. The Bank and Agricultural Universities will not send the Information Bulletin by Post. Hence, no request should be made to them for sending the Information Bulletin by Post.

Director, National Academy of Agricultural Research & Management, Rajendranagar, Hyderabad-500030 by sending a request with a demand draft for Rs. 405 for General Category and Rs. 155 for Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe Category candidates drawn in favour of Deputy Director General (Edn.), ICAR, New Delhi payable at New Delhi-110012 and a self-addressed unstamped envelope (size 30 cms * 25 cms). The Information Bulletin and application form will be sent by Registered Post. The request for Information Bulletin by Post received after a date of April will not be entertained.

  • Last date of Receipt of Applications: A date of April. Information regarding sale of bulletins and the examination centers is published along with the advertisement.

Notifications for the programme are published in March.
