Google India Venkat Panchapakesan Memorial Scholarship 2018 – Google India invites applications for Venkat Panchapakesan Memorial Scholarship 2018 from Graduate and Postgraduate students studying Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related Technical field from an Indian college/University Academic Year 2018-19
The scholarship is named in the honour of Late Venkat Panchapakesan -a former VP of Google Inc, who tragically passed way after a short battle with cancer.
Venkat was a much loved and highly respected engineer whose career took him to YouTube, Google and Yahoo, among other notable companies

Are you an ever-optimistic person who believes we can make the world a more sustainable place? Are you passionate about the field of computer science and engineering? Are you already using computer science to develop solutions for some of the challenges, or opportunities, that you see around you? If yes, we invite you to apply for the Venkat Panchapakesan Memorial Scholarship
Scholarship Amount Details
Each scholar will receive financial award of 750 USD towards tuition and education related expenses
Selected student will also receive funding of up to 225 USD to spend on growing computer science in the local community
The selected student will also get an opportunity to visit YouTube headquarters in San Bruno, California, USA
Eligibility Criteria
In order to apply for Venkat Panchapakesan Memorial Scholarship the student must:
Be pursuing a degree in computer science, computer engineering or a closely related technical field
Be enrolled as undergraduate or graduate student in any Indian College/university for the 2017-18 and 2018-19 academic year
Please Note
Venkat Panchapakesan Memorial Scholarship is a one-time scholarship and past recipients of any Google scholarship are not eligible to apply
Any employee of Google Inc. including its affiliates and subsidiaries are not eligible to apply for Google scholarships
Application Procedure
Application for the Venkat Panchapakesan Memorial Scholarship can be submitted online only
Click on the apply link of the site and you will be directed to online scholarship application form. The scholarship application form besides containing Personal and Academic details also contains space for writing essays and uploading video & CV
An applicant has to write 300 words essays describing in brief: (A) How do you plan to use computer science to make the world a more sustainable place? (B)If you receive this scholarship, how will you use it to advance your passion and the goals of this scholarship.
An applicant also has to describe in 250 words what adversity have you faced, and how did it impact your career? Also, explain the steps you have taken to overcome it
