Canadian High School Scholarship Programme 2017

Canadian High School scholarship Programme 2017 objective is to attract the strongest students of the Bangalore city while benefiting students who might not otherwise be able to avail of a CIS education.

It inspires a community of learners, outstanding individuals looking to take on the class 9 International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) and on class 11 International Baccalaureate Programme (IB), build a richer and more vibrant school

One – 100% Scholarship and upto TWO 75% Scholarships for the IGCSE Programme (Grade 9) and One – 100% Scholarship and upto TWO 75% Scholarships for the IB Programme (Grade 11)

Eligibility Criteria

The CIS Scholarship Programme is available to all new applicants to CIS for Grade 9 (IGCSE) and Grade 11 (IB).

Candidate must have a minimum 80% in previous Grade or equivalent for the IB program. For the IGCSE program, candidate must have a minimum 85% in previous Grade or equivalent.

Decision on minimum equivalent grade for students coming from different grading system rests solely with CIS Scholarship Committee
Selection factors will also include
-statement of need,
-evidence of academic excellence,
-leadership qualities
-significant artistic or athletic achievement
-civic involvement/volunteerism
-engagement in school activities
Students whose fees are paid by parents’ companies cannot be considered for Scholarship Programme

Selection Procedure

Applications will be initially screened for eligibility. Eligible candidates will be notified on Monday, January 16th, 2017 for both the IGCSE and IB scholarship
Those candidates will then be required to appear for a written test in English, Mathematics and any one Science of Applicant’s choice. Candidates will also appear for an interview with the committee on the same day
Date of Test: Saturday, January 21st, 2017
Time of Test: 9.00 am
Duration of Test: 3 hours
Interviews after Lunch
Venue: Canadian International School

Download and complete the Application (for Grade 11), Application (for Grade 9) form and post it us along with the following documents. Alternatively, you can scan the application and accompanying documents and send everything as an attachment to: [email protected]. Submit the following documents along with the completed form
(a) One passport size photograph; (b) Copy of Birth Certificate; (c) Grade 9 final and the most recent Grade 10 reports for the IB programme (d) Grade 7 and the most recent Grade 8 reports for the IGCSE programme
Essay (not more than 600 words) reflecting evidence of financial need, personal achievements, leadership skills, contribution to community service
