Birkbeck University of London, UK notifies International Office Merit Scholarships 2016 for students who have been accepted for the one-year Master’s programme offered at the University.

Scholarship Details
Birkbeck is offering a limited number of merit scholarships to suitably qualified students from India who accept offers to do Master’s Degree Programmes at Birkbeck, University of London, starting in September 2016.
Who may apply: Students accepted onto one-year taught Master’s degrees at Birkbeck, University of London, starting in September 2016
Amount: £4,000 paid as a contribution towards tuition fees
General: Scholarships may not be held in conjunction with any other Birkbeck-funded/supported scholarship (e.g. Chevening) or where the fees are fully funded by other sources
Eligibility Criteria
Thailand: Candidates must be Thai citizens and achieve a minimum final GPA of 2.8 in their Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized Thai university. To be eligible, applicants should secure an offer (conditional or unconditional) to study on a Master’s Degree Program from Birkbeck, University of London by 24th May 2016
Vietnam: Candidates must be Vietnamese citizens and achieve a minimum final grade of 7.0 (GPA 2.8) in their Bachelor’s degree (Bang Tot Nghiep Dai Hoc) from a recognized Vietnamese university. To be eligible, applicants should secure an offer (conditional or unconditional) to study on a Master’s Degree Program from Birkbeck, University of London by 24th May 2016
India: Candidates must be Indian citizens with a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized Indian university with a final grade of 70% or higher (applicants from top universities in India may apply with a final grade of less than 70%). To be eligible, applicants should secure an offer (conditional or unconditional) to study on a Master’s Degree Program from Birkbeck, University of London by 15th June 2016

How to apply
Once a student has received an offer from Birkbeck, the student must submit an essay of no more than 500 words to [email protected]
The essay should detail why the applicant is the ideal candidate to receive the International Merit Scholarship. Recipients will be chosen based on a combination of academic merit and financial need
