AWES ESSA Scholarship Scheme for Army Personnel 2017
Army Welfare Education Society (AWES) has introduced award of scholarships under the Education Scholarship Scheme for Army Personnel (ESSA). It is the Education Scholarship Scheme for the wards of the Army Personnel where the annual scholarships are provided to the students based on their merit

Education Scholarship Scheme for Army Personnel (ESSA) 2017 is for children of Serving Army Personnel who are pursuing Class 9 to PG/ Professional Courses. The scholarships under ESSA will be provided by Army Welfare Education Society (AWES) and will be given at three levels, namely:
Class 9 to 12
Graduation
Professional / PG Courses
Reward Award Details:
The rates of scholarships, based on the level of education for all categories are as under: –
(a) Class IX to XII – INR 1500 per annum
(b) Graduation – INR 2500 per annum
(c) Professional/PG courses – INR 6000per annum
Eligibility Criteria
Wards of serving Army personnel and MNS who have not attained 25 years of age at the time of completion of class/course from class IX to PG level of education studying in Govt. / Recognized Private Educational Institutions
Wards of Retired Army Personnel, Territorial Army personnel (TA) and deceased Army personnel are not eligible
Selection Process
Cut off percentages/grades for various classes and categories are given below: –
IX-X: Officers – A1/91; JCOs – A2/81; OR – B1/71
XI to XII: Officers – 90; JCOs – 87; OR – 72
Graduation: Officers – 75; JCOs – 75; OR – 60
PG/Professional Courses; Officers – 75; JCOs – 75; OR – 60
All children above cut off percentages of marks would be awarded scholarship
Application Procedure
Application Form of AWES Scholarship can be filled through offline mode. Candidates have to download the application form from the official website of AWES www.awesindia.com. The application form of Serving Army Officers, JCOs, and OR will be submitted through offline mode
Candidates have to send the application form along with the photocopy of marks sheet/ both semester of the year duly attested by the Headmaster/Principal/HOD to Director ESSA at the following address as per Appendices A and B duly scrutinized by their Commanding Officers/ Head of Departments

The ESSA scholarship will be paid through NEFT / Multi City Cheques drawn on the nameof applicant of successful candidates
The following details are mandatory to fill in the application form: Name of Officers/JCO/OR applying for scholarship as per bank record; name of the Bank and full address; Bank Account No. of the Applicant; IFSC code
One cancelled cheque of the present handling the account to be attached
