Submission of application for the “Scholarship for Higher Education (SHE)” – A component of the Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research (INSPIRE)
Call for Applications under SHE – 2014
Applications are invited from eligible candidates for Scholarship for Higher Education (SHE), a component of INSPIRE
Total of 10,000 scholarships are available annually under SHE
The scholarships are limited only to the candidates studying courses in natural/basic sciences at B.Sc, B.Sc (Hons), Integrated M.Sc/M.S programs in any one of the recognize institutions in India
The scheme in its current format does not include courses in engineering medicine technology and other professional/applied science courses
Value and Type of Support: Eligible candidates will receive annually Scholarship total value Rs 80,000 per candidate
The cash value payable to the SHE scholarship holder is Rs 60,000 per annum along with a summer time attachment fee of Rs 20,000 which will be paid to the mentoring institution for undertaking summer time project
Duration of the Support: Selected candidates will be supported for a maximum period of five years starting from 1st year course in B.Sc, B.Sc (Hons) and integrated course leading to M.S., or M.Sc or till completion of the course, which ever is earlier
Eligibility Criteria: The selection of candidates will be based on performance in Board Examinations within the cut-off threshold (of top 1%) for each State or Central Board Examination at Class XII level; and/or performance in any of the specified Competitive Examinations within stipulated cut off ranks and recipient of various scholarships and medals
Student who passed Class XII board examination in 2014 and are in receipt of eligibility certificate/note issue by the respective board are also eligible to apply, subject to evaluation as per respective boards under cut-off which will be finalized later
The eligible candidate must be already enrolled into degree level education in natural/basic sciences in any recognized college or university in India

How to apply
Interested candidates can apply for the Inspire Scholarship 2014 through online mode or offline mode
Visit the official website Inspire Scholarship i.e. ‘www.inspire-dst.gov.in’
Interested and eligible candidate (for board examination based eligibility or for competitive examination based eligible or pass class XII board examination in 2014 having eligibility certificate/note issued by the respective board) must apply in the prescribed format written preferable in English and Hindi only
Attach attested copy of certificate of class X board examination for verification of date of birth; marks sheets of class XII board examination; copy of the eligibility certificate/note for students passed in 2014; copy of the rank certificate for IIT-JEE/AIEEE/AIPMT examination; and endorsement certificate from Principal of the College/Director or Registrar of the Institute or University where the applicant is presently enrolled/admitted

The Online application submission process shall commence from 01st August 2014 (10.00 hrs) and shall end on 31st October 2014 (17.00 hrs). However, submission of application along with all other documents through online would be preferred
After online submission of application, the applicant must send the hardcopy of the submitted application along with all necessary documents to the Director, National Institute of Science, Technology and Development Studies (NISTADS), Dr S.K. Krishnan Marg, New Delhi-110012
After the On-line submission of application, the applicant must obtain a print out of the submitted application for his/her records
The following points may be observed by the applicant very carefully:
i) Incomplete or wrongly filled up application or application with lack of essential documents will summarily be rejected
ii) The applicant’s own valid and functional email address must be used for submission of the On-line application. The status of the application will be informed to the applicant’s email that is registered in the On-line portal.
iii) DO NOT SUBMIT MORE THAN ONE APPLICATION. Please ensure that all aspects of the application are correct before submitting. No claims shall be entertained in case of incomplete or non-submitted application.
(iv) Any legal proceedings in respect to any matter of claim or dispute arising out of this advertisement and / or application can be lodged only in Delhi Courts/ Tribunals/ Forums and Delhi Courts / Tribunal/ Forums only shall have the sole and exclusive jurisdiction to try any case / dispute
