Indian Council of Medical Research International Fellowships 2018 for Junior & Senior Scientists
The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) invites applications from Indian Biomedical Scientists for the ICMR International Fellowships for the year 2018-19
This is for Junior and Senior Scientists related to Biomedical/Research/Health institution

Fellowship Duration
Young Scientists: 03 to 06 months
Senior Scientists: 10 to 15 days
Number of Fellowships
Young Scientists: 12 fellowships per year
Senior Scientists: 06 fellowships per year
Scholarship Reward
Young Scientist: USD 3000 per month (includes accommodation and other expense), return economy class airfare for excursion (by Air India), Contingency grant up to INR 20,000
Senior Scientist: USD 200/day (USD 75/ day up to USD 125 for accommodation expense, up to a max of USD 3000 for the entire stay), return economy class airfare for excursion (by Air India), Contingency grant up to INR 20,000 Legal bond of INR 5 lac must be signed between the applicant and the parent institute for a period of 3 years after the return of the applicant from fellowship program
Eligibility Criteria
The applicant should be a citizen of India and working in the country
The applicant should possess an M.D/PhD degree with at least three years teaching/research experience for Young Scientists and fifteen years for Senior Scientists in a recognized Institute after obtaining the requisite qualification
Age Criteria
Below 45 years for young scientists
Below 57 years for senior scientists
The applicant should be employed in a regular position in a recognized Biomedical/ Research/ Health Institution
The application should be forwarded by the Employer/Head of the Institution with a statement that the candidate will be considered as a full-time employee of the Institution during the period of his/her fellowship
Applicant should submit a letter of acceptance from the host Institute where he/she proposes to work during the fellowship
Selection Criteria
Screening of applications will be done at the International Health Division, ICMR and the short- listed candidates will be considered by the selection committee for awarding the fellowship.
The selection of the candidate will be based on the evaluation of the merit of the candidate and the training needs in the field of Biomedical research by a Committee of eminent scientists

This undertaking needs to be submitted on a non-judicial stamp paper of INR 50

The applicant should submit a letter of acceptance from the foreign Institute where he/she proposes to work alongwith a concrete plan of training /research work to be undertaken during the fellowship
