FRENCH GOVERNMENT SCHOLARSHIP

MINISTRY OF HUMAN RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION FRENCH GOVERNMENT SCHOLARSHIP

  • Applications in duplicate are invited in the prescribed format from Indian nationals for the award of two French Government Scholarships in Political science and Economics for students who have done their Ph.D or young post-doctoral fellows in the above mentioned subject fields.
  • Duration: 12 months.
  • Value: (1) A stipend of 5650 French francs per months to cover the stay and living expenses. (2) Medical reimbursement will be made in accordance with existing French Government Scholarship regulations.
  • Travelling Expenses: Air passage by economy class for Mumbai/Delhi to Paris and back will be provided by the French Government.
  • Academic Qualifications Required: The candidates must possess Ph.D. with 60% or above marks at master’s level.
  • French Language: Candidate having a good knowledge of French language will be given preference.
  • Placement: Applicants must have a letter of acceptance from a French University/research institute or center at the time of interview. To obtain addresses of French Institutions, the applicants must send a copy of their detailed research project and a complete biodata to the Directorate Centre de Science Humanities (CSH), c/o French Embassy, 2 Aurangzeb Road, New Delhi. Incomplete files will not be entertained by the CSH.
  • Condition: In case the applicant is unable or unwilling to complete the period of scholarship, he/she will be obliged to refund the grant of donor country in addition to the Bond Money, etc.

Note:

    • The following documents must be attached with the application: (A) attested copy of the certificate certifying the date of birth. (b) Attested copies of all degrees/diplomas/certificates. (c) Candidates must furnish a clear and precise programme of study/research. (d) A recent passport size photograph of the candidate must be affixed on the prescribed application from.
    • Application in the subject-field other than those specified above will not be considered.
    • Candidates who have already been abroad for study/research specialization/training either on a scholarship or on their own for more than six months may apply if they have been in India for at least two consecutive years after their return from abroad.
    • Applications of candidates who are at present abroad, will not be considered.
    • Candidates should have sufficient knowledge of India and the donor country.
    • Incomplete applications will not be considered.
    • No correspondence will be made with candidates not selected for
      interview/scholarship.
    • Canvassing in any form will be a disqualification.
    • Candidates who are in employment must send their applications duly sponsored by the employers.
    • No application will be entertained after the last date of receipt of applications, i.e., a date in the month of April.
    • No application forms are supplied by this Ministry.
    • Decision of the Selection Committee with regard to selection or otherwise will be final. Candidates should send their applications in duplicate to the Secretary, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Department of Education, A. 1/W.3, Curzon Road Barracks, Kasturba Gandhi Marg, New Delhi-110001. The last date of receipt of application is a date in the month of April.
