Maharashtra Talent Search Examination (MTSE) 2021 Dates, Eligibility, Syllabus, Admit Card, Application Process

MTSE 2021 – Maharashtra Talent Search Exam (MTSE) is a talent search exam conducted by N. Wadia College, Pune. Maharashtra Talent Search Exam is conducted to search talented students and to equip the students for National Talent Search Exam (Class 10) and other competitive examinations in future

MTSE also aims to honour and encourage the selected students by awarding scholarships and prizes.

Aims of MTSE

  • To Search for the talented students.
  • To equip the students for NTS (std.X) and other competitive examinations in future.
  • To encourage the students to appear for various competitive examinations  and to create an urge and ambition to succeed in each examination from an early age.

Scholarship Reward

  • The number of students selected for the award of MTS scholarships at state/ district level depends on upon the number of students appearing for the exam from the entire state and the marks secured

State Level Merit List

Awarded state scholarship of Rs.1000 each for one year

District Level Merit List

District Scholarships of Rs.400

Special Prize

Rs. 200/- each will be awarded for those students

Taluka Prizes

Rs. 150/- each for one year for those students

Consolation Prizes

Awarded consolation prizes of Rs. 100/-

Merit Prizes

Rs.5000/-, Rs. 3000/- & Rs.2000/- will be awarded to the first three students

Other Medium Prize

Rs. 400 will be awarded amongst Hindi, Urdu, Gujarati and Kannada

Eligibility Criteria for MTSE 2021

  • All students of Maharashtra studying in std. VIII, IX and X in Govt. recognized schools. Appearing for MTSE has proved to be useful as a preparation for NTS Examination.
  • Majority of MTSE Scholars have succeeded in the NTS Examination. However, appearing for MTSE is not a prerequisite for NTSE
  • For appearing at MTSE std. IX, it is not compulsory to have appeared at MTSE std VIII
  • For appearing at MTSE std. X it is not compulsory to have appeared at MTSE std VIII & IX

MTSE 2021 Application Process

  • The application Form for MTSE Exam 2021 has released on the official website, which is www.mtsexam.org
  • Candidates can download and fill offline the application form from the direct link which is given below
  • Application Form must be filled and submitted on or before its last date.

Application Fee

  • Complete the application form and send it to the MTS office with the Fees of Rs. 177/- (150/-+GST Rs. 27/-).
  • Submit the completely filled Application Form along with the Examination Fees (either by cash or DD drawn in favour of Hon. Director, MTS Examination, Pune and Payable at Pune) to the Coordinator working in your area or send the same to the MTS office.

Selection Process

  • Candidates will receive their results at their respective schools by the end of June
  • The complete result of all the students appearing for the examination will also be available on the official website
  • Merit List of MTSE 2021 will be prepared at two levels:
  • State level Merit List
  • District level Merit List

Pattern of Question Paper

  • There will be  two written papers for all standards and will be conducted on the same day for three hours without any recess between.
  • The questions for the written examination will be of multiple choice type. Four alternative answers will be provided for each question and the student has to select the appropriate answer.

Paper No. 1

Mental Ability Test: 100 Questions, 100 Marks; Time : 90 min.

Paper No. 2

Scholastic Aptitude Test: Science(Physics, Chemistry, Biology) 40 Questions, 40 Marks Social Science(History, Geography, Civics, Economics) 40 Questions, 40 Marks
Mathematics(Algebra, Geometry, Arithmetic) 20 Questions, 20 Marks Total 100 Questions, 100 Marks Time : 90 min.

Interview

Interview only for STD X. – 50 Marks; No interview for Std. VIII & IX.

  • English / Marathi / Hindi / Urdu will be the medium of examination.
  • For MTS Examination student will be provided with a single question paper having both the sections i.e. MAT and SAT and he will have to attempt these 200 questions in 3 hrs. i.e. 180 mins.
  • While in NTS Examination at standard X two separate papers for each section will be provided and students will have to attempt 100 questions from each section in 1.5 hrs. i.e. 90 mins.

MTSE 2021 Syllabus

Paper I – MAT

It will have a slightly higher difficulty level than the Mental Ability Paper of Scholarship Exam of Std. VII for Std. VIII, MTSE of Std. VIII for Std. IX and MTSE of Std. IX for Std. X.

Paper II-SAT

For Std. VIII, Std. IX and Std. X the syllabus will be as per the school syllabus for respective subjects and classes for the entire academic year. The students should use the regular prescribed text books prescribed for the academic year

MTSE Admit Card

  • The hall ticket for Maharashtra Talent Search Examination (MTSE) 2021 exam will be released online at mtsexam.org. Candidates can download the hall ticket/admit card by entering the Standard and School District. Candidates can access the below direct links to download the admit card.

Exam Center

  • For written examination, the centers will be allotted at District or Taluka places. To allot a centre of examination at least 150 Students should appear for the MTS examination (Std. VIII, Std. IX and Std. X together).
  • If the number of students is less, they will be allotted a nearby centre. Students will have to appear at the given center at their own cost.
