CHINESE GOVERRNMENT SCHOLARRSHIP
Applications are invited from Indian nationals, on plain paper, in the given formal, for the award of Chinese Government Scholarship tenable from a date of September, for higher studies/research/specialized training in the subject fields of Chinese Language & Literature, Acupuncture & Traditional Chinese Medicines, Political Science, Zoology, Economics, Plant Breeding and Genetics, Environmental Science, Fine Arts (Painting & Sculpture), History, Fisheries, Agronomy, Sericulture and Botany. The scholarship is extendable on year-to-year basis with minimum of one academic year.
Eligibility Conditions:
Qualification: (i) Chinese Language & Literature: Two or three years basic grounding in Chinese Language (i.e., either a Certificate/degree or Diploma from reputed/recognised institutions). (ii) Fine Arts (Painting & Sculpture): Should have completed Bachelors Degree in Fine Arts with 60% or above marks. (iii) Acupuncture & Traditional Chinese Medicines: Should have completed Bachelors Degree in Medicine (including traditional Indian Medicines) with 60% or more marks and two years experience. (iv) Other subjects: Should have completed postgraduate degree with 60% marks in aggregate or related subject along with 2 years teaching/work or research experience in the related field. Prior knowledge of Chinese Language is not necessary where medium of instruction is English. However, selected candidates will have to undergo Chinese Language study for one year, Prior to undertaking study in the areas of their choice, where medium of instruction in Chinese.

Age Limit: Below 40 years. Relaxation for SC/ST, etc., candidates is two years.

Value of Scholarships: The Chinese government pays a sum of Yuan 750 P.m. to all senior advanced students, Yuan 650 p.m. to ordinary graduate students and Yuan 550 p.m. to undergraduate students. In addition, Govt.of India is paying supplementary grant of 570 Yuans p.m. Government of China will also provide board, lodging, medical care and bear expenditure on tuition and other fees, etc.

Cost of Passage: Government of India will bear the Intenational passage cost from India to China and back.

Last Date of Submission of Application: Applications on plain paper (as per format given) along with attested copies of all certificates/degrees/diplomas and marks-sheet of qualifying degree should reach the Section Officer, ES.3 Section, Deptt. Of Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development, A.1/W.3 Curzon Road Barracks, Kasturba Gandhi Marg, New Delhi-110001 latest by a date of March. Application received after this date will not be considered. Employed candidates should forward application through the employer by due date along with “No Objection Certificate”. However, an advance copy of application may also be sent by due date with the understanding that the application through employer will follow. If no communication is received from this Ministry by a date of April, it may be presumed that the candidate has not been considered for the award.
