Q1. Which neuron conducts impulses faster?
Ans. Medullated neurons conduct impulse faster as impulse moves in a jumping manner that is from one node of Ranvier to another (saltatory conduction).
Whereas the nerve impulse in non-medullated neurons is quite slow.

Q2. How nerve impulse passes through synapse?
Ans. Under microscope, axon end appears to be knob like which has synaptic vesicles it it. These synaptic vesicles store a chemical neurotransmitter.

We can clearly see the fluid in synapse and we can also see the receptors on the dendrite of another neuron. When impulse reaches the axonal end calcium ions are released from neurolemma that stimulates the secretion to neurotransmitter from  vesicles into synapse.

As the synaptic fluid moves, the neuro-transmitter also moves and as soon it touches the dendrite receptors of another neuron the message is delivered. In response the receptors secrete anti neuro transmitter that further stops the secretion of neuro transmitter. Hence, this is how the impulse travel through synapse

Q3: Why does a plant droop when kept inside the room?
Ans: The plant droops when kept inside the room as it doesn’t get complete sunlight, so auxin gets accumulated only at one side. Therefore the growth occurs in only that region where Auxin accumulates therefore the plant droops.

Geotropism: The movement caused in plants in response to gravity.

For Example: It is seen in touch me not plant (mimosa pudica). The stimulus for it is touch. When we touch, the leaf closes.

Q4. Why do people living near coastal areas suffer less from goiter?
Ans. This is because they mainly feed on sea food and sea water which has iodine in it.

Q5. What is Synapse?
Ans. It is the junction between two neurons.

Q6. Draw the structure of Neuron.
