List of Entrance Exams conducted for Bank Recruitment

There are many entrance level and aptitudes taken by different banks for recruitments. Today have a look at various entry level examinations which are held by different banks or institutes for various positions. From Probationary Officer to Clerical staff, Regional Rural Banks to Private Banks.

 

IBPS Common Written Exam for Probationary Officer

A Common Written Examination CWE is conducted by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) as a pre-requisite for selection of personnel for Probationary Officer/ Management Trainee posts in the Public Sector Banks. This system of Common Examination for recruitment of Probationary Officers/ Management Trainees has been approved by each of the 22 participating Public Sector Banks and the Managing Committee of the Indian Banks’ Association (IBA) with the consent of the Government of India. IBPS will make arrangements for conducting online examination, declare result of online exam and inform the shortlisted candidates about the interview. Interviews will be conducted by the participating organisations and coordinated by the Nodal Bank in each state/ UT with the help of IBPS.

State Bank of India Probationary Officer

State Bank of India conducts examination for vacancies for the post of Probationary Officers in the bank. The structure of the written examination of the PO exams by State Bank of India includes a written examination which is a part of Phase-I of the selection process for the recruitments of Probationary Officers. Further the exam is divided into two parts; Part A and Part B. Part A of the exam will consist of Objective Tests whereas; Part B will consist of a Descriptive Paper.

Private Banks

Private Banks mostly conduct their own aptitude tests for candidates. For Example – ICICI Bank conducts its own It full time residential training programme, conducted at ICICI Manipal Academy campus, Bangalore. Applicants joining the Probationary Officer Training Programme will be enrolled for MBA in Banking and Finance with Manipal University, an UGC recognized University.

IBPS Common Written Exam for Clerical Recruitment for PSUs

Common Written Examination (CWE Clerk-IIV) is a pre-requisite for selection of personnel for Clerical cadre posts in the Public Sector Banks which is conducted online by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) tentatively in November/ December. Candidates who appear and are shortlisted in the examination, will subsequently be called for a Common Interview to be conducted by the Participating Organisations and co-ordinated by IBPS. Depending on the State/UTwise available vacancies in Participating organisations, candidates shortlisted will be allotted to one of the Participating Organisations, keeping in view the spirit of Govt. Guidelines on reservation policy, administrative convenience, etc.

 

State Bank of India Clerical Recruitments

State Bank of India conducts its separate test for the recruitment of Indian citizens for appointment in the Clerical Cadre posts in its bank. Candidates apply online through Bank’s website www.statebankofindia.com or www.sbi.co.in. Final selection will be made on the basis of performance in the written test and interview taken together. The written test will be of Objective type consisting of General Awareness, General English, Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning Ability and Marketing Aptitude/Computer Knowledge.

Common Written Exam for Regional Rural Banks

A Common Written Examination (CWE) is conducted for recruitment of Officers (Scale-I, II & III) and Office Assistants (Multipurpose) in Regional Rural Banks (RRBs). The next Common Written Examination for RRBs (RRBs CWE-III) for recruitment of Group “A”-Officers (Scale-I, II & III) and Group “B”-Office Assistants (Multipurpose) is conducted online by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS).

Common Written Exam for Specialist Officer

A Common Written Examination (CWE) is conducted for the recruitment of Specialist Officers in Public Sector Banks coordinated by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS). There are different post requirements and different Scales which depend on the vacancies at the moment. Example – Marketing Officer, Law officer, HR Officer, IT Officer, etc. So the eligibility will vary on the post and the scale of the required officer.

RBI Grade A and Grade B Exams

Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has published the recruitment notification for Grade B Officer Posts. Eligible interested candidates can apply via online mode.

ICICI Bank PO Recruitment
