CAT 2018 results are to be released within a day or two. The results would be released on iimcat.ac.in. Check the total number of seats available for the PGP program, the fees and the expected cut off or minimum CAT 2018 percentile as released by various IIMs on their websites. The results are expected by Friday.

 

As per the information available, the top 2 MBA institutes – IIM A and IIM B are planning to increase their intake by 805 seats from next year. For this year, however, a total of 12,411 seats are available across 20 IIMs in all the courses. The total seats for PGP program, however is 4318. Also, the fees mentioned below is based on last year’s figures.

 

In a report published in TOI, IIM Bangalore and IIM Ahmedabad have already written to HRD Ministry, seeking an increase in the number of seats. IIM A has requested to increase its intake by 380 seats. IIM-Bangalore has requested for an increase of 425 seats which would increase the intake to 1646. At present the maximum intake is at IIM Indore with 1907 students.

 

Taking a step towards the intended increase, IIM Ahmedabad and IIM Bangalore have also written to higher education financing agency (HEFA) seeking a loan to improve infrastructure. IIM B has requested a loan of Rs. 200 crore. Loan amount for IIM A is not confirmed at present.
