Eligibility Criteria for WBPSC Principal Recruitment 2019
| Any one of the following options | A Master’s Degree with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) by a recognized university, along with relaxations applicable to specified categories, as explained under the proviso-I. |
| A PhD degree in concerned/allied/relevant discipline in the institution concerned with evidence of published work and research guidance. | |
| Associate Professor/Professor with a total experience of 15 years of teaching/research/administration in Universities, Colleges and other institutions of Higher Education as clarified under provision-II. | |
| A minimum score stipulated in the Academic Performance Indicator (API) based Performance Based Appraisal System (PBAS) set out in the U.G.C.( Minimum Qualifications for Appointment of Teachers and other Academic Staff in Universities and Colleges and Measures for the Maintenance of Standards in Higher Education) regulations 2010 and subsequent amendment thereto in appendix III for direct recruitment of principal in colleges ( as prescribed for professor by U.G.C. ) | |

Selection Process
| The overall selection procedure shall incorporate transparent, objective and credible methodology of analysis of the merits and credentials of the applicants based on weightage given to the performance of the candidate in different relevant dimensions and his/her performance on a scoring system Proforma, based on Academic Performance Indicator (API) as provided in the University Grants Commission (Minimum Qualifications for Appointment of Teachers and other Academic Staff in Universities and Colleges and other measures for Maintenance of standard in Higher Education) (4th Amendment), Regulations, 2016 (No .F 1-2/2016 dated 11.07.2016). |
