B.Ed Full Form – Bachelor of Education 

 

The Full form of B.Ed is Bachelor of Education. B.Ed is an undergraduate professional degree course for students who want to make their career in teaching and related fields. This degree is formerly known as BT (Bachelor of Teaching). The duration of this course is of two years. After successfully completing the course, the students become eligible to teach in intermediate and high schools. B.Ed is a major prerequisite for any graduate to teach at the high school level in India.

 

 

A student has to clear the B.ED entrance exam to study for the B.ED course. The minimum educational qualification required to be eligible for the B. Ed entrance exam is an undergraduate degree from a recognized university in India. For example, the students who possess a Bachelor of Science (B. Sc), Bachelor of Commerce (B. Com) or Bachelor of Arts (B.A) degrees are eligible to sit for B.ED entrance exams conducted by different universities and colleges in India.

The students are also required to have a minimum of 50 % marks in graduation. It is a skill-based course and is mainly designed to impart the necessary teaching skills to make the students familiar with different aspects of classroom teaching.
