NTA may conduct NEET twice a year from 2021 – The National Testing Agency (NTA) director Vineet Joshi has stated that the agency is planning to conduct the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) twice a year from 2021 onwards. Currently this plan is only in initial stage. The authorities would implement it only after the Union Ministry of Health decides to approve it.
Joshi stated that the agency had received several inputs from teachers and students from the country regarding this matter. Therefore, they are thinking of conducting NEET twice a year similar to JEE.
The director assured that the 2020 Exam would be conducted as per the schedule and there would be no change in it. Meanwhile, a health ministry official said that the matter is still under consideration and the ministry would soon take a decision regarding this matter.
Earlier, the Health Ministry had announced a decision to make NEET a single entrance exam to grant admission into MBBS courses including AIIMS and JIPMER.
