IGNOU School of Agriculture launches M.Sc, PG Diploma and Diploma Courses in the Field of Agriculture  

 

The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has launched three new courses in the Field of Agriculture for January 2022 session. As per the notification, IGNOU School of Agriculture has introduced MSc in Food Safety and Quality Management (MScFSQM), Post Graduate Diploma in Agribusiness (PGDAB), and Diploma in Horticulture (DHORT).

The MSc in Food Safety and Quality Management (MSc FSQM) has been launched with the objective of developing qualified and competent human resources in the field of food safety and quality management for regulators, industry, academic/research institutions, certifying and accreditation bodies, food trade, food testing and training. Candidates with Graduation/ Post graduation in allied sciences courses such as Agriculture/ Food Science/ Post Harvest Technology/ Engineering/ Home Science/ Life Science/ Microbiology/ Biochemistry/ Biotechnology/ Horticulture/ Dairy Technology/ Veterinary/ Fisheries etc. are eligible to apply for M.Sc Food Safety and Quality Management course

Post Graduate Diploma in Agribusiness (PGDAB) program will inculcate and develop managerial skills and develop agribusiness professionals in agriculture, food, and allied sectors. Candidates should have successfully completed graduation in any discipline from a recognised university.

The Diploma in Horticulture (DHORT) course has been developed with the financial support of the Ministry of Agriculture Farmers Welfare, Government of India to educate the students about horticulture, make more entrepreneurs and build human resources such as supervisors, gardeners, entrepreneurs and middle technicians in the area of horticulture. Anyone who has successfully completed Class 12 from any recognised board can apply for this course.

The varsity has launched several new courses like MA in Journalism and Mass communication, MA in Urban Studies in ODL Mode, Master of Arts (Corporate Social Responsibility) (MACSR), Bachelors in Social Work, etc.
