Exam Date for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2021 announced
The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur on Thursday has announced the exam date for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2022. As per the notification, the GATE 2022 exam will be held on 5th, 6th, 12th and 13th February 2022. The online application for the same will be released soon on the official website.
IIT Kharagpur has also introduced 2 new papers – GE (Geomatics Engineering) and NM (Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering) for GATE 2021
The press release by Director of IIT-Kharagpur VK Tewari reads – “The two new papers will provide direct benefits to our graduates in these two areas, especially when the country needs human resources with advanced capabilities in shipbuilding industries and geo-informatics.” He further stated that “Further, the GATE is fast acquiring a brand value and foreign universities are also utilising the scores for their admission.”
The eligibility criteria of GATE 2022 will also be expanded. This time, candidates with B.Des and M.Pharm degrees will also be eligible to appear for the exam.
GATE exam is held by IIT’s on a rotational basis for admission to the M.Tech courses across all government & private engineering colleges, including IITs, NITs, CFTIs. Many PSUs also consider the GATE score for recruitment.
The entrance exam will be held through computer-based mode. The entrance exam will be held for a duration of 180 minutes.
