Delhi Government School Students exempted from paying CBSE Registration Fee

CBSE Registration fees exempted for Delhi Government School students – Delhi Government’s Education Minister and Deputy CM, Manish Sisodia made an announced on Saturday, 22 June 2019 that the students of Delhi government school will not be required to pay any fees to Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). Currently, all the government schools of Delhi run under CBSE board.

 

The Minister stated that the students would no longer be required to pay Rs 1500 to education board from now onwards. He made this announcement during a facilitation ceremony organized for the students at Delhi’s Thyagraj stadium. The announcement came after several students had complained to the ministers that even while their education was free, they had to pay Rs 1500 to CBSE. He also congratulated the facilitated students and their parents.  

 

The minister stated that access to good quality education is the right of every student. It is not a matter of charity. His government will pay these fees to the CBSE board. He also stated that the government is planning coaching for JEE and NEET aspirants as well.

 

In 2018, the AAP government had announced to make Education free until Class XII across all Delhi government school. Apart from this, the scholarship amount for those students who score 80% and above would be increased to Rs 2500. They also removed the rider on the family income of such students.
