A new campaign has been organized to promote the job opportunities in the tourism sector and members from the tourism industry from Panama and around the globe have been invited to join the campaign.

The World Travel and Tourism Council have requested people to make their own 15 seconds video, telling people about their wonderful experience in this industry.

The Instagram campaign will be initiated by Chris Nassetta, President and CEO, Hilton Worldwide, who will be joined by Raymond Bickson, CEO, Taj Hotel Resorts and Palaces and Thulani Nzima, the CEO, South Africa Tourism.

According to a recent research by WTC, the Travel and Tourism sector has immense opportunities and new jobs can be successfully created to solve the rising problem of youth unemployment and issues of gender bias around the world. However, serious challenges have to be overcome in order to understand the profile of the sector.

David Scowsill, President and CEO, WTC confirmed that the main purpose of Travel and Tourism is to help people travel to different corners of the world, introduce them to the cultures and experiences of different countries and provide a source of livelihood for millions of people round the globe. Although, this industry is fantastic to work in, but the right awareness has to be created to persuade people to take it up as a career option. The main purpose behind the Instagram campaign is to make people more informed, and make them aware about the careers in Travel and Tourism. In fact, people who love travelling are the most suitable to promote this sector and can also be the brand ambassadors in changing people’s views.

Scowsill also said that as compared to the overall labor market, the Travel and Tourism sector has a significantly higher rate for women and youth employment and also offer opportunities for self employment.
