BPT or Bachelor of Physiotherapy is an undergraduate academic Course in a field of Medical Science known as Physiotherapy. The duration of BPT course is 4½ years including internship of 6 months. Physical Therapy Programs provide core skills like manual therapy, therapeutic exercise and the application of electro physical modalities, to the prospective students. The course focuses on the use of physical therapy, massages, physical movements and exercise to improve and cure injuries, deformities and diseases. Physiotherapy doesn’t rely extensively on the use of drugs and medicine. Instead, it relies on the use of physical treatment to improve the situation.

Frequently Asked Questions regarding BPT courses & MPT courses


i) Is NEET required to study BPT?

Ans – No, BPT does not require NEET. Colleges and universities take separate admission tests for students’ intake to this course. 


ii) What is the eligibility criteria to get admission to BPT courses?

Ans – Candidates need to score 50%+ marks in the 10+2 level. Students need to acquire this percentage in the science stream including Biology, to be eligible to sit for the admission test conducted by colleges/universities, to study BPT courses. 


iv) Can I study BPT after passing class 12?

Ans – Yes, one can study BPT after passing class 12. But the only criteria is that one should secure above 50% marks in the science stream including Biology, at the 10+2 level.

Ans – Full-time BPT course has a duration of 4.5 years, which includes 6 months of compulsory internship.
