Ques: How to become an I.A.S Officer? What subjects are required?

Answer:

To become an IAS Officer, applicant has to appear for an entrance exam which is conducted for the selection of IAS Officer and is considered to be one of the toughest examinations in India.

Candidate should complete his/her graduation in any discipline from a recognized university. After completion of the graduation, he/she will have to write Civil Service Examination conducted by Union Public Service Commission.

 

This examination comprise of three stages including two stages of written examination and an Interview. You must keep in mind that in order to be considered for the post of IAS (Indian Administrative Service) Officer, you will have to be one of top scorers in the examination.

The age limit to write the examination is as follows:

For General category: 21-30 years

For OBC category: 21-33 years

For SC/ST category: 21-35 years

Since the examination is conducted by Union Public Service Commission, you must refer to its official website for notification of Civil Service Examination as well as for other related information.

There is no Specific Subjects to become an IAS Officer. For Main Exam you can choose any subjects from a given list.
