He started playing football at the age of four in his hometown where he played for KVV Drongen in 1997, however  left the club two years later due to the lack of infrastructure and proper training.   • Bruyne joined Genk in 2005 and was promoted to the first team squad in 2008. He made his official debut for the club in 2009, in a 3-0 defeat against Charleroi. 
  • He scored his first goal for the club in 2010,in a 1-0 win against Standard Liege.
  • During the 2010-11 season itself he scored five goals and made 16 assists in 32 league matches with Genk being crowned the Belgian champions for the third time.

  • He made his debut for the club on 18 July 2012 in a friendly match against Major League Soccer side Seattle Sounders FC in a 4-2 win.

  • Bruyne signed a contract with Manchester City on August 30 2015 in a six-year long contract for a whooping 75 million euros, which made him the second-most expensive transfer in British football.
  • He debuted for the team in the Premier League against Crystal Palace on 12 September. 
  • He scored in a 4-1 league-cup win against Sunderland on 22 September, which was followed by a 4-1 loss against Tottenham Hotspur.
