Erling Braut Haaland was born on July 21, 2000 to Alfie Haaland (Norwegian Professional Football player who played for Leeds United in the Premier League) and Gry Marita Braut (Former women’s heptathlon athlete). Bryne:
- Halland started playing football at the mere age of five. At the age of 15, during the 2015-16 season, he played for Bryne’s reserve team and scored a total of 18 goals in just 14 matches, impressing a lot of people in the process.
- His debut was a second-tier 1.division (Norwegian first division) match against Ranheim on 12 May 2016. Initially playing as a Winger, he was later put Haaland in his favored central role as a Striker. He made 16 senior appearances for Bryne.

Molde:
- Haaland signed with Molde on 1 February 2017. He made his debut for the club in a Norwegian cup match against Volda TI on 26 April and managed to score in a 3-2 win.
- Haaland debuted in the Eliteserien on June 4, coming in as a substitute in the 71st minute and managed to score the winning goal in the 77th minute, which was also his first goal in the league.
