The Full form of UPSC is Union Public Service Commission. Union Public Service Commission is India’s leading central government agency that conducts top-level exams for the recruitment of officers and staff into various services of the central government. It is most known for the civil services exam it conducts every year, though it also holds many other important exams. It is a central agency of India which is authorized to conduct the Civil Service Examination, Indian Forest Service examination, Combined Defence Services Examination, Engineering Services Examination, National Defence Academy Examination, Naval Academy Examination, Combined Medical Services Examination, Special Class Railway Apprentice, Indian Economic Service/Indian Statistical Service Examination, Combined Geoscientist and Geologist Examination, and Central Armed Police Forces (Assistant Commandant) Examination. The UPSC is India’s premier central recruiting agency. It is responsible for examinations and appointments for All India services and group A & group B of Central services. The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is an independent recruiting agency of the Union and performs other functions as provided by the constitution. Chairman and other important members of UPSC shall be appointed by President of India, but not specify any qualifications for the other half members of UPSC.
