The Full form of TMC is Toyota Motor Corporation. TMC is a Japanese multinational automotive manufacturer which has its headquarters in Toyota, Aichi, Japan. Toyota’s corporate structure consisted of more than 3 lakh sixty thousand employees worldwide in 2017 and it was the 10th-largest company in the world by revenue as of December 2019. Based on the number of units sold in 2018, the company is the largest automobile manufacturer in Japan, and the 2nd-largest in the world behind Volkswagen.
Consistently producing more than 10 million vehicles per year, which it had been doing since 2012, Toyota has become the world’s first automobile manufacturer with the production of its 200-millionth vehicle. Toyota was the largest listed company as of July 2014 by revenue and by market capitalization (worth more than double as much as number 2-ranked SoftBank) in Japan.
In terms of sales of hybrid electric vehicles, Toyota is the market leader globally and also one of the largest companies to encourage the mass-market adoption of hybrid vehicles worldwide. The company is also a market leader in hydrogen fuel-cell vehicles. In January 2017, the cumulative global sales of Lexus and Toyota hybrid passenger car models achieved the 10 million milestone.
